Trump has long boasted that he was self-funding his campaign as a way to establish his bona fides as a candidate independent of Washington special interests.
Jonathan Bernstein is a Bloomberg View columnist covering US politics. “Given Trump’s record, we’ll all need to see proof that these purported actions have been taken”.
He said Trump raised about $10 million in conjunction with the Republican Party at fundraising events this week. “I think I could save them about $600,000 or $700,000”, he said to King.
Despite the torrent of bad news, Hillary Clinton is still Hillary Clinton. “So that is a contribution”, Steve Mnuchin said.
Trump dismissed suggestions that the cash crisis could cripple his campaign, saying in a statement Tuesday, “There could be unlimited ‘cash on hand, ‘ as I would put up my own money, as I have already done through the primaries, spending over $50 million dollars”.
The fact that the money Trump did give to the campaign was classified as a loan also created discomfort among some potential donors, who rightly wondered if every dollar they sent to the Trump campaign would go not toward winning the White House, but into Trump’s personal bank account.
The trip, which is to last two days, is strictly business – no politics involved, despite the political nature of the United Kingdom at the moment with the Brexit vote happening Thursday and Trump’s 2015 editorial in a Scottish newspaper that his business exploits in the country have prepared him for the presidency.
Until the election, we’re bringing you “The Trump Files”, a daily dose of telling episodes, strange-but-true stories, or curious scenes from the life of presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump.
Being a staunch Methodist believer, Clinton also testified how the popular Methodist expression has shaped her Christian life. Mr. Trump’s message and performance could also jump-start the process of calming anxiety-ridden and skeptical Republicans. “They have declared their independence from the European Union and have voted to reassert control over their own politics, borders and economy”, said Mr Trump, who is now in Scotland on a business trip. Yet, if he does not vote for Trump, he faces criminal penalties, including fines and imprisonment.
Trump has significant real estate holdings, which he says have low debt on them. Trump accused the Clintons of accepting donations via their public charity, the Clinton Foundation, from leaders of countries guilty of human rights abuses. She has promised to expand Obama’s proposal to shield millions of immigrants in the USA illegally from deportation.
This is Trump’s first worldwide trip since sealing sufficient delegate support to be the GOP standard-bearer this fall.

That anti-Donald Trump delegate effort is starting to gain more steam… Perhaps for these reasons, and the flagging poll numbers, Trump’s campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski, called it quits on Monday, calling into question the future of the Trump train.
