Trump acts to shake up troubled campaign
Republican Donald Trump has announced a shake-up of his campaign team leadership amid falling poll ratings and just 82 days before the USA presidential election. “They’re terrific people, they’re winners, they’re champs, and we need to win it”, he said. “Our country can not afford four more years of the failed Obama-Clinton policies which have endangered our financial and physical security”.

Conway has acted as a senior adviser and pollster to Trump’s campaign.
Bannon will occupy “a new position created to bolster the businesslike approach of Mr. Trump’s campaign”, the statement said, adding that his duties will include oversight of the campaign staff and operations.
Manafort, a GOP campaign veteran, joined the Trump campaign in March to professionalize the operation, which had been run with very little money or organization. Bannon will temporarily step down from Breitbart to work for Trump.
Manafort deputy Rick Gates, who has been traveling often with Trump, is expected to maintain a senior role with the campaign.
Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump, who has slipped in the polls in recent weeks, has shaken up his campaign again.
Trump has listened intently to Bannon and agreed with him, believing that voters will ultimately want a presidential candidate who represents disruption more than a candidate with polished appeal, the aides said.
Trump’s campaign advisers have sought to refocus him, including through a pair of scripted policy speeches on the economy and terrorism that offered a stark contrast to Trump’s freewheeling style.
The staffing shake-up follows several weeks of negative headlines and alarming polls for Trump who is trailing Hillary Clinton, the Democratic nominee, in almost every key battleground state and lagging in the latest national polls.
On Wednesday, Trump is expected to get his first official national security briefing, a move that is done to ensure that whoever is chosen as the new president is informed when they take office in January. The first was replacing former campaign chairman Corey Lewandowski in June with Paul Manafort, but Trump’s falling polling numbers and stories of Manafort’s connections to Ukrainian politicians likely led to Manafort’s demotion, though he is said to be retaining his job title.
The conservative Breitbart figure has been a cheerleader for Mr Trump’s campaign for months and was critical of Republican leaders, including House Speaker Paul Ryan.
He said on Tuesday: “You know, I am who I am”.
“I want to win”, Trump told the Journal. Everyone talks about, “Oh, well you’re going to pivot, you’re going to”. Conway is a longtime GOP pollster and operative who has been close to Trump for years.
“I think you have what is he’s building up that leadership team”.

Manafort, who will remain on the campaign but will see his influence scaled back, drew unwelcome attention to the campaign this week when the New York Times reported that his name was on secret ledgers showing cash payments designated to him of more than $12 million from a Ukranian political party with close ties to Russian Federation. “If you start pivoting, you are not being honest withpeople”.
