Trump adds delegates in PA, strengthening path to nomination
But in other events Sanders has largely steered clear of Clinton, focusing instead on Trump.

If Cruz, a US senator from Texas, can win a large share of the state’s 57 delegates on May 3, it will boost the chances that Trump will not be able to amass the 1,237 delegates he needs to clinch the nomination before the party’s convention in July.
I’m not convinced that current polling in which Republicans believe the delegate leader should become the nominee will matter much.
Trump was having none of that. The presidential candidate, fresh off five Republican primary victories in the Northeast, says the Trump that people see on any given day depends on the political circumstances in play at the time. Trump defended his remarks against Hillary Clinton, the Democratic presidential front-runner, that she is only performing well because “she is a woman”. “The only thing she’s got going is the woman’s card and the attractive thing is, women don’t like her”.
Kasich has “pulled out from the state of Indiana”, Cruz said as he framed himself as the only candidate who could defeat Trump, asking Hoosier voters to “unify and stand as one with us”. Jane Sanders has since spoken out and urged supporters to hang in there and continue their efforts to spread the word because she predicts that Bernie will have a huge comeback in the upcoming primaries that will give his campaign a huge boost.
Sanders, in an interview with The Associated Press, conceded he has a “very narrow path and we’re going to have to win some big victories”.
She prevailed in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Connecticut and DE, while Sanders won Rhode Island. All he needs is 46% of the remaining delegates to cross the magic number: 1,237.
Perhaps partly because of Cruz’s unpopularity, it’s getting easier to find leading lawmakers speaking publicly in favor of Trump. His nearest rival Senator Ted Cruz is more than 400 votes below him.
With this, his delegate count jumped to 950.
There are still many delegates from Tuesday to be allocated, pending final vote tallies.
Cruz or Kasich will reportedly help each other in states where either one is stronger. His event was held at the “Hoosier gym”, where some scenes were filmed for the 1986 movie, “Hoosiers”, about a small town IN basketball team that wins the state championship. Her only loss of the night was to Sanders in Rhode Island.
Trump has exposed the timidity of the GOP’s leadership class and the bankruptcy of an old conservative ideology that can no longer rally the faithful.
“She was really the person who made the case to President Obama, who was reluctant to back the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation bombing campaign, and I think you saw in that speech yesterday that Donald Trump will lose no time in connecting her to that policy”.
“We had a great, you know, a great victory there in Pennsylvania”, Trump said Wednesday morning on CNN. Her Democratic rival, Bernie Sanders, won Rhode Island.
Hillary Clinton is 232 delegates shy of clinching the Democratic nomination, when including superdelegates.

Trump now has about 75 percent of the delegates he needs for a first-ballot win. He has vowed to compete until the final District of Columbia primary in June.
