Donald Trump used a short statement at the end of a weird campaign event to attempt to separate himself from the so-called birther movement questioning President Barack Obama’s citizenship, of which he had always been the most prominent champion.

“President Barack Obama was born in the United States, period”, he continued.

“This kind of talk should be out of bounds for a presidential candidate, just like it should be out of bounds for a presidential candidate to peddle a conspiracy theory about the President of the United States for five years”, Mr. Mook said.
She went on to stump for Clinton, saying she was inspired by the current Democratic nominee’s record of public service and that she was the most qualified to take the job.

As recently as Thursday he refused to answer a question from the “Washington Post” about his freaky claim.
Meanwhile Paul Penzone, running for Sheriff against Joe Arpaio this November, calls the Sheriff’s investigation “a waste of resources” and “nonsense”.
A president could not just “pop off” when making life or death decisions about war and peace, she said without naming Trump. He doesn’t have a birth certificate.

President and Mrs. Obama each largely shrugged off Trump’s acknowledgement of widely accepted fact today. “My hope would be that the presidential election reflects more serious issues than that”.
Later, while addressing a black women’s symposium in the nation’s capital, Clinton said Trump is feeding into the “worst impulses, the bigotry and bias” that lurks in the nation, and that he owes Obama and the American people an apology for his role in the so-called “birther” movement.

The comments from Trump Friday came less than a day after Trump refused to say in a Washington Post interview that he believed Mr. Obama was born in Hawaii.
