Trump adviser apologizes for ‘inarticulate’ comments on marital rape

“[O]n one occasion during 1989, Mr. Trump and I had marital relations in which he behaved very differently toward me than he had during our marriage”. The comment came as Michael Cohen defended Trump against an old rape allegation.

As a reporter in New York back in 1990, I covered every twist and turn: Donald’s side accused his estranged wife of demanding $150 million and the Plaza Hotel, while Ivana’s side accused him of having an affair with Marla Maples (who later became Trump’s second wife).

In the piece, authors Tim Mak and Brandy Zadrozny included attorney Michael Cohen’s fierce, and occasionally profane, reaction to the report.

Understand that by the very definition, you can’t rape your spouse…You cannot rape your spouse.

Cohen went on to taunt the reporter, telling Mak that if he wants to ruin his life “at the age of 20”, he would be happy to make that happen. “And I think your paper’s a joke, and it’s going to be my absolute pleasure to serve you with a $500 million lawsuit, like I told [you] I did it to Univision”. A new controversy for Donald Trump. She said the story is without merit and she supports Donald Trump for President.

“Donald and I are the best of friends and together have raised three children that we love and are very proud of”. It justified digging up this ancient story on the theory that “Donald Trump introduced his presidential campaign to the world with a slur against Mexican immigrants, accusing them of being ‘rapists.'”.

She said in the book that she did not make a criminal accusation against her ex-husband but “felt violated”, the Daily Beast reported.

The interview was published Monday by The Daily Beast.

“The story is totally without merit”, she said in a statement Tuesday.

If Donald Trump committed rape, however long ago, there is no need to justify writing about it. The problem is that, from all that appears, Trump did not rape Ivana. That’s right. He said, I made an inarticulate comment which I do not believe and which I apologize for entirely.

Zadrozny and her co-writers found a forgotten deposition, highlighted in a Trump biography from the early 90’s. Rarely I surprised by the press, but the gall of this particular reporter to make such a reprehensible and false allegation against Mr. Trump truly stunned me.

A Notice to the Reader on the book said that Ivana’s statement “does not contradict or invalidate any information contained in this book”.

In a rage, Trump allegedly tore out clumps of his wife’s hair, the book claimed, and ripped off her clothes and assaulted her.

“I’m all that concerned what might be coming my way”.

Donald denied the exchange to Newsday in 1993, and his camp – also speaking on Ivana’s behalf – was just as firm in their rebuttal when reached by Fox News.
