Trump Apologizes for Words on Campaign Trail
[Photo by Gerald Herbert/AP Images] Even though this appears to be the case, Conway’s denial that Breitbart’s involvement was a sign of Donald Trump’s direction towards the alt-right is still the same kind of denial that others representing the campaign have expressed in various interviews with the press.

Eric Trump, foreground, son of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, listens as his father delivers a campaign speech in Charlotte, N.C. Thursday, Aug. 18, 2016.
The evening rally in Charlotte will be Trump’s first since he overhauled his campaign team this week for the second time in as many months, in a bid to regain some momentum in the drive to win the White House in November.
“I’m extremely comfortable with Steve Bannon in the campaign”.
The new ad – which will air as part of the national cable ad buy – features Republican commentator George Will and 2012 Republican nominee Mitt Romney, who both oppose Trump, positing why he isn’t releasing his tax returns.
Peoples reported from Washington. Ailes recently stepped down from Fox amid a swirl of sexual harassment allegations and accusations that he used his power to spy on adversaries.
“Many observers have noted that in the last six decades of modern presidential polling, the candidate with the lead in the polls two weeks after the final convention has always won”, writes veteran campaign analyst Charlie Cook in his widely read political newsletter.
“So while sometimes I can be too honest, Hillary Clinton is the exact opposite: She never tells the truth”, Trump said. “If the new campaign leadership can do that, I am all for the change”.
Ultimately, she said, that will run in the favor of Trump.
“I know how well we’re doing with law enforcement”.
“I think it’s incredibly concerning and risky actually to have someone have this kind of influence with the person who is running for president of the United States, who would be a top adviser if he were to win the election”, he cautioned.
Campaign officials framed the staff changes as a typical expansion of the team weeks before early voting begins.
Bardella joined this week’s episode of “Powerhouse Politics” podcast with ABC News Chief White House Correspondent Jonathan Karl and ABC News Deputy Political Director Shushannah Walshe to discuss the recent shakeup in the Trump campaign. “I think everyone in the campaign realizes that if this election is about Trump, it will be harder to win”.
But Trump has exhibited obvious discomfort with that strategy as he has lurched from teleprompter-assisted speeches back to his volatile tangents and slashing personal attacks.
Conway correctly says that there was no “shake up” among the campaign staff as no one was sacked.
“If I had to do it again, I wouldn’t have sent it”, Trump said.
It was a rare admission for a man who has said that he prefers “not to regret anything” and it underscores the dire situation he finds himself in. Reports coming in from the states tell us that they are registering to vote in larger numbers this time – with Mrs. Clinton drawing more than two-thirds of their vote.
“What do you have to lose by trying something new?” “Let him be him, in this sense”. It’s a political challenge that mirrors the one her husband, former President Bill Clinton, faced almost a quarter century ago. “He understands the new media, and that has been lacking I think. It lights a fire under us and reminds us what we need to do to get this done”, she said.
The Republican nominee also said that “too much is at stake for us to be consumed with these issues”, little more than 80 days before the election against Democratic opponent Hillary Clinton, one in which he now trails according to numerous polls.
United States officials said they have concluded that Russian Federation or its proxies were responsible, leading to calls by some Democrats and cyber security officials for the Obama administration to blame Russian Federation publicly.
But with Bannon at the helm, Democrats are now bracing for a far more personal onslaught against Clinton this fall.
