Although he conducts business at the Trump Organization estate, it’s not always clear with whom. First, there’s the hypocrisy: Trump’s fascination with Obama’s golfing was endless – the line about Obama golfing more than professionals on the PGA tour was a staple of his stump speech – which makes it all the more striking that the president can’t seem to pry himself from the links.

“We were showing off, going back and forth trying to get the president’s attention”.

Every time a president steps off the White House grounds, travel prices skyrocket into the millions thanks to costs such as operating Air Force One as well as securing and feeding the commander-in-chief and his staff and guests. Then, he finds room to embrace Trump’s travel habits: “It’s the president’s home”. This response was predictably met with a brutal chorus of boos from the town hall audience.

The president attended the service with his wife, Melania, his two younger children, Barron and Tiffany, and the first lady’s parents. This week, they took their request to federal court in NY and extended it to include visitor logs for Mar-a-Lago and Trump’s Manhattan residence, Trump Tower. There is a clear value to Mar-a-Lago, though.

Trump waved to well-wishers before entering the Episcopal Church of Bethesda-by-the-Sea in Palm Beach and taking a seat near the front of the sanctuary.

The White House says while this is a holiday weekend and President Trump is spending time with his family, he also uses his time on the golf course to foster relationships with world leaders and lawmakers. Some new expenses include Eric Trump’s limousine service during a trip to Dublin which totaled $4,029.85.

It appears to be Trump’s first visit to church since his inauguration. He has hosted both the Japanese prime minister there, and the President of China.

At one point, the Tax Day protesters ended up right at the entrance of Mar-a-Lago, where Trump stayed during the Easter weekend. He spent his three days in Palm Beach shuttling between Mar-a-Lago and Trump International Golf Club, spending nearly no time outside the cocoon of his two palm tree-lined properties.

Rep. Elijah Cummings, the top Democrat on the Oversight Committee, was among lawmakers who requested the review by the Government Accountability Office.
