Trump beats Republicans, not Clinton, in one-on-one matchups
Among blue-collar Republicans, who have formed the core of Trump’s support, the polls were about the same regardless of method.

The Washington Post reported this summer that Bush told an audience at a fundraiser that by “December 15, Trump will be in decline”.
The eight, announced last week, join 13 other Nevadans on the team, which will aid the candidate’s grassroots efforts in Nevada, an early-voting state with February caucuses.
Everyone’s happy to have his blessing.
He also said Cruz had changed his position on trade promotion authority – a measure that gives President Barack Obama the power to negotiate trade deals and send them to Congress for votes without amendments – and on the Patriot Act.
Blue-collar voters don’t feel embarrassed about supporting Trump, who is very popular in their communities. Even Jeb Bush eagerly exchanged a low-five with the mogul during one of the early debates. They continued taking shots throughout the week, with Trump calling Bush “dumb as a rock” on Twitter Friday. He raised eyebrows after Morning Joe host Joe Scarborough asked whether he minded Putin’s reported violence against journalists who disagreed with him, and Trump responded “at least he’s a leader”. Trump interrupts and makes more faces. Former Florida Governor Jeb Bush, who was once favoured to get the party’s nomination held fifth position with 7%. But the party wants a leader.
Not coming as a surprise to many Bible-believing Christians watching the polling and presidential debates, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is not generating the votes of evangelicals as easily as he is with other conservatives out there. This may be a coincidence, or it may have something to do with their ability to rationally calculate their political interest.
Rubio doubled down on his line of attack highlighting Cruz’s support for an amendment in 2013 that would have doubled the number of green cards and increased five-fold the number of visas for highly skilled foreign workers. “Neither (fellow GOP hopefuls) Trump nor Carson nor Rubio have done that”.
Rubio’s campaign appears willing to let immigration be the topic of conversation in pursuit of a broader narrative that undercuts Cruz’s claim to being the only “consistent conservative” in the GOP field. Trump questioned Cruz’s religion and his judgment, and Cruz brushed it off as a trifling misunderstanding between stalwart foes of the establishment. Another voter asked Bush how he’d go about defeating Trump.
With many variables in play, do you think that Donald Trump polling data overestimates or underestimates how much support he actually enjoys among the electorate both in the upcoming primaries and potentially for the November general election?
Republican insiders find the Cruz maneuver galling.
