Trump blames media for his immigration policy confusion

Trump gained popularity with the conservatives after introducing a hardline stance on immigration, with one of his proposals seeing him infamously promise to build a wall along the US-Mexico border.

Trump has tried to sidestep these dust-ups by saying Democrats have failed minorities with their economic policies, leaving them living in poverty and attending failing schools.

Mike Pence on CNN’s “State of the Union” Sunday could not say whether the Republican presidential nominee is sticking by, or backing off, his pledge to deport the estimated 11 million people in the United States illegally with the help of a “deportation force”.

Donald Trump’s campaign manager said Sunday he will soon be courting black voters more directly, scheduling events in front of predominantly African-American audiences.

Trump has indicated he would participate, too, but has stopped short of officially committing, claiming he wants to first see who would be chosen as moderators. “I think what he has said is that people are not going to be eligible for legalization or citizenship unless they leave the country and get back in line”.

Christie, who also sought the GOP nomination for president, added to the confusion Sunday by suggesting that while criminal members of the undocumented population would be deported, others would have to self-deport if they wanted a path toward staying in the USA legally.

“Every time an African American citizen, or any citizen, loses their job to an illegal immigrant, the rights of that American citizen have been totally violated”, he argued.

While secretary of state, Clinton regularly received intelligence briefings.

As recently as last week, however, the campaign had still not yet revealed who it had chosen to play Trump in behind-the-scenes mock debates.

On Saturday, however, Trump said the media had “missed the whole point on immigration”. “He’s not gone to historical black colleges – Hillary Clinton (has)”.

Trump drew an online backlash Saturday for a tweet he sent in response to the shooting death of National Basketball Association star Dwyane Wade’s cousin, who was gunned down near the Chicago school where she had planned to register her children.

Other Trump stand-ins, including New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, spoke similarly, a striking indication that even they don’t know the answer to such a critical question just as Trump has promised to streamline the campaign for the grueling final stretch.

Trump’s first tweet about the shooting ended this way: “Just what I have been saying”.

A new Real Clear Politics composite sketch of polls finds Clinton now topping Trump 272 electoral votes to 154 with 112 votes still considered too close to call in the battle to become President Barack Obama’s successor. Trump tweeted. He later sent a tweet offering his “condolences to Dwyane Wade and his family”. “They want to see things happen”, Trump said.
