Trump blasts ‘loser’ Bill Kristol for promising a ‘spoiler’ independent candidate

In what could be a close matchup between Trump and Democrat Hillary Clinton, that’s all it would take. This one, to be exact? Did the “Weekly Standard” editor have some big name from out of nowhere like Colin Powell up his sleeve?

One thing that seems clear is he is no fan of Trump being the GOP nominee.

Romney has already tweeted his support of a potential French candidacy.

Remember Kristol’s ominous Tweet from a couple of days ago, the one where he told the world, “Just a heads up over this holiday weekend: There will be an independent candidate-an impressive one, with a strong team and a real chance”.

I’m not going to get into French’s political views because, again, he’s not an actual candidate. Bloomberg Politics might have figured it out.

“National Review” writer David French is being floated as a possible establishment conservative candidate for president.

He concluded his piece by arguing that Johnson needed to prove he could be a candidate Never Trumpers could get behind, writing words that might apply to his own reported candidacy as much as they do to Johnson’s: “You can make the case for liberty to a nation embracing authoritarianism. We hadn’t either”, Bloomberg Politics reporter Mark Halperin said on “With All Due Respect” on Tuesday.

DAVID FRENCH, NATIONAL REVIEW: What do I do?

French is a major in the U.S. Army Reserve and has served in Iraq. He’s a Harvard-trained lawyer and is a New York Times bestselling author.

According to his biography on their website, the Harvard Law School graduate lives in Columbia with his wife and three children, where he practices constitutional law. For those of you who don’t have a calendar handy, that’s precisely one week from today, which means the French campaign would have has to pull in close to 13,000 signatures daily to make the cut – a hard task made all the more challenging by the fact that the French campaign does not exist. But he tweeted Tuesday night, “I’m incredibly humbled by and grateful for the many expressions of support – thank you”.

Kristol has been one of the most vocal advocates for an independent run and Dowd likened his comments to those of the police commissioner in Batman comics who called on the caped crusader to save the day. Ben Sasse (R-Neb.) and former Sen.

In an interview on the Hugh Hewitt Show, Priebus conceded “I don’t really know” French, whom Weekly Standard founder and editor William Kristol has suggested would be a viable candidate should he mount an independent bid.

Meanwhile, it appears there’s no love lost between Kristol and the presumptive Republican presidential nominee.

“Bill Kristol is a loser”. His magazine is failing.

Bill Kristol is just desperately grasping at straws now, and it’s probably safe to say that the so-called “Never Trump” movement is whimpering to a halt.
