Trump Blasts Mitt Romney, Questions if Romney is Actually Mormon

On Friday the Republicans’ 2012 presidential candidate Mitt Romney recommended voting for Cruz to prevent Trump from securing the nomination, accusing the frontrunner of encouraging racism, misogyny and violence. “That has no place in politics; that is wrong. Are we sure?” he jokingly asked his crowd at the Infinity Event Center. They include Kasich, House Speaker Paul Ryan, and 2012 nominee Mitt Romney.

“The only path that remains to nominate a Republican rather than Mr. Trump is to have an open convention”, he said. “If Hitler were rampaging across Europe, Trump would say – as many said at the time – that he’s someone we can do business with”.

Kasich once again dismissed the notion that some in the Cruz camp are pushing that the OH governor should drop out to stop Trump, noting that that’s what Republicans wanted a few weeks ago to clear the way for Marco Rubio.

Most Utahans view their vote as an effort to “somehow redeem what’s been going on”, Oscanyan says.

“I have no intent of responding like a junior high school child”, he said. Thousands attended Sanders’ rally and speech Friday afternoon in Salt Lake City.

The announcement made by Romney, who is the most visible member of the faith, dealt a big blow to Ohio’s governor John Kasich as he was campaigning in the state. Romney said he will caucus for Cruz as a way to stop Trump and urged those in Utah to do the same.

Romney is trying to use his popularity in the state to turn the tide against Trump. Did he choke? Did this guy choke? “He choked. He choked. He should have beaten Obama”.

Trump has 678 delegates; Cruz has 423 delegates and Kasich has 143.

“Nobody’s going to have the delegates they need going to the convention”, he said.

That is a contrast to the poll put out by the same company in February where Cruz was chosen as the top Republican candidate by Utahns for the 2016 presidential election.

Early polling shows Cruz leading among Utah’s predominantly Mormon voters, but Trump is expected to win Arizona’s primary where many Republicans support his call for building a wall along the border with Mexico and mass deportations of immigrants living illegally in the U.S.

Donald Trump would cozy up to Russian President Vladimir Putin, whom he’s praised as “a strong leader;” Texas Sen.

Last year, when the billionaire proposed banning all Muslims from entering the United States in the wake of the San Bernardino terrorist attack, Trump became the only candidate in either party this election cycle to elicit a response from the LDS church leadership.

“On Tuesday night, Utah gets to be the designated driver for the Republican Party”, he said.

Romney’s suggestion that Kasich is a spoiler has been a common refrain for establishment Republicans. On Thursday, South Carolina Sen.

Different rules could make it more likely that in the future, party nominations will go to candidates with majority support.

He flatly rejected creating a unity ticket and agreeing to be Trump or Cruz’s vice presidential nominee. I will spend my time convincing them about my electability and my record.

Kasich’s campaign confirmed to PolitiFact that he was referring to analysis by mediaQuant, a Portland, Ore.,- based media firm that in part tracks political coverage. “And so Mitt observed a vote for John Kasich is a vote for Donald Trump”. He promised to quit the race if he lost, and, based on a victory there on March 15, maintains that he’ll be the next president. “Pennsylvania is certainly one…” The state also led the nation in job growth previous year, and its unemployment rate is at 3.4 percent. A GOP primary is also being held Tuesday in Arizona. And an Emerson poll of NY, which holds its primary on April 19, showed 64 percent of Republicans backing Trump. That far outpaced Kasich, who garnered 3.9 percent. He campaigned in the state Saturday with host Glenn Beck and Sen.

“Of the people left in the race, he’s got the experience, ” Caruso said of Kasich by phone. And if nobody gets delegates, which they won’t, then we’ll have to work at the convention.
