Trump branding removed from Dubai development amid uproar
Donald Trump’s call to ban noncitizen Muslims from entering the US continues to land him in the weeds, this time costing him his name on a $6 billion community golf course in Dubai.

Donald Trump, who is now running to be the Republican Presidential candidate, said on Tuesday via a statement that America should disallow any Muslims from entering the country.
Niall McLoughlin, DAMAC Properties spokesman, did not comment on why the Trump name and image has been removed from a billboard and sign at the entrance of the construction site. His comments come after a radicalised young Muslim couple gunned down 14 people in suburban California, one of the deadliest attacks in the U.S. since 9/11.
A billboard showing Trump golfing was gone on Friday from the Damac Properties’ Akoya development.
Trump also has deals with property developers and golf courses in the Emirates. Also, a part of the huge billboard that featured Mr Trump and his daughter Ivanka, which was pulled down on Thursday, was replaced with another image.
DAMAC Properties had initially said it would stand by Trump, even as another of the billionaire’s Middle East partners, the Lifestyle chain of department stores, halted sales of his “Trump Home” line on Wednesday in protest at his comments.
Dubai-based businessman Khalaf Al Habtoor has strongly condemned United States Presidential hopeful Donald Trump calling the American tycoon “Islam’s biggest enemy”.
A spokesperson for Trump Towers was not available for comment.
“In light of the recent statements made by the presidential candidate in the United States media, we have suspended sale of all products from the Trump Home decor range”, said Landmark Group’s Lifestyle CEO Sachin Mundhwa, in an e-mailed statement.
Unfortunately, his continuous controversial comments against Latinos and Muslims have resulted in more damage as far as Trump’s business groups are concerned.
In an interview in July, he said that his characterization of Mexican immigrants as violent criminals and “rapists” had lost him customers for his brand.

“We are assessing the legal dimension of our relationship with the Trump brand”, a statement from Kural said.
