Cruz may not be one of the top candidates for the Republican race himself, but he didn’t shy away from taking a shot at Trump.

In response, Cruz criticized other Republican candidates who have attacked Trump, noting that he has not gone there.
On Friday, CNN’s Brooke Baldwin tried to get to the bottom of how this woman could possibly feel the way she does about Trump.
Cruz spoke highly of Trump’s contribution to the race.
The USHCC countered that Trump was afraid he would be put on trial at the event and said his actions further disqualified him as a serious candidate to Latino voters. Cruz echoed familiar praise for Trump, calling his candidacy “tremendously helpful to my campaign because it’s framed the central question of this primary: Who will stand up to Washington?” But generating attention, they say, is not the same as generating votes.

“I like Donald, I respect him”, Cruz told WABC’s Rita Cosby.
“It would be hard for people to confront Paul Ryan and say he’s not a good Republican or he’s not loyal”, Rep. Peter King, R-N.Y., said. Cruz, who has made a reputation in Washington for battling his own party, has been the sole Republican not to do that. Always I say he is our man. Absolutely.
Maybe this is the year that an outsider upends the system and the political laws of physics stop working, but I feel safe betting that this year’s outsiders will join the likes of Herman Cain, Wes Clark, Steve Forbes, Pat Buchanan and Pat Robertson as notable also-rans.
He presented an idea of wealth that was brazen and crass and thus to his admirers rang open and honest, whatever legerdemain went into the actual business. Ted Cruz, who visited Trump in his Manhattan office over the summer (at Cruz’s request, as Trump made clear) and has spoken favorably of Trump in many public settings.
Trump kissed the enthusiastic Hispanic woman’s head and hugged her in appreciation.
But they are focused on picking a “leader who will solve problems – and rightly or wrongly they assume Trump is the person to do it”, he said.

For his part, Huckabee, without directly addressing Trump, has boasted of his grassroots organization in South Carolina and neighboring states as more important than Trump’s standing months from voting.
