Trump Buries Hatchet With CIA on First Official Visit — Praise for Intelligence

Because as Trump later explained, “I didn’t call him a loser.I never said that about John McCain”.

Rep. Ted Lieu, D-Calif., said he has begun a “Cloud of Illegitimacy Clock” to time the businessman’s ongoing violations of the Constitution. The report was denied by Trump’s team, though last week, a document was uncovered by the Federal Election Commission that proved that Trump had indirectly paid a casting agency for the event. “And that didn’t happen”, Nunes said. It doesn’t matter how many people attended the ceremony; what matters is that Trump took the oath of office and became the 45th president of the United States.

During an October 9, 2016, debate with Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, Trump said “maybe there is no hacking”. When supporters roared their approval, Trump replied, “I think so. If I had to name the most important this would be in some ways my most important”. He went back to the election, saying that the military and law enforcement and “probably everybody in this room” voted for him.

CIA chief John Brennan was “deeply saddened and angered at Trump’s despicable display of self- aggrandisement in front of CIA’s Memorial Wall of Agency heroes”, Mr Brennan’s former spokesman, Mr Nick Shapiro, said on Twitter. He discussed his battles with the “dishonest media”, comments that were also greeted enthusiastically.

It was clear to any objective observer with a set of eyes and ears that Trump’s speech at Central Intelligence Agency headquarters was a tremendous success.

In recent weeks, Trump took aim at the CIA and other intelligence officials, blaming them for leaking information about alleged ties to Russian Federation and Moscow’s purported attempts to hack into the email accounts of Trump’s political opponents to help him win the presidency.

While Trump kept a handful of events on his public schedule, aides continued setting up the White House. “And probably nearly everybody in this room voted for me”, he asserted.

Speaking about Iraq, he said: “We should have kept the oil”.

He was applauded when he mentioned the confirmation of three of his nominees – Jack Kelly (DHS), Mike Flynn (NSA) and James Mattis (DOD). I mean, 10 people didn’t yell that loud. “You are going to be getting a total star”.

Conway also told ABC News’ chief anchor George Stephanopoulos that Trump supports his press secretary after Sean Spicer slammed the media from the White House podium Saturday. “When we were running the campaign and moving about, people often say that I feel young and I truly feel that I am young”, he added.

“The reason you (CIA) are my first stop is because of the media because they are the most dishonest people”. The rift widened notably when Trump, while still president-elect, questioned intelligence reports that said Russian Federation tried to influence the November election in his favor, and then openly antagonized the intelligence community on Twitter.

The crowd laughed and applauded. On Saturday, he told agents they would be at the forefront of those efforts and asserted that the intelligence community had not been fully used to help win wars. “I think that it’s unprofessional, I think perhaps he’s bitter – you know, he was replaced the day before, he was not asked to hold over like [former director of national intelligence James] Clapper was”. Is it likely that the applause heard during the speech came exclusively from the political advisors who accompanied him to the site? The CIA employees applauded. “We are going to start winning again”.

The crowd also laughed when Trump said he turned on, “by mistake”, the wrong cable TV network and saw the side-by-side crowd comparisons between his inaugural and Barack Obama’s. This isn’t the first time Trump has done this, as many remember from his first press conference.
