Trump calls Cruz non-endorsement ‘no big deal!’
“I think you misunderstood one paragraph that Ted Cruz – who is a superb orator – said”, Gingrich said.

“I’m not surprised NY led in showing their disappointment”, Cox said. “I’m going to continue to watch and listen”. That kind of political status quo has got to go because it got us into the mess we’re in with America’s bankrupt budgets and ramped up security threats.
Marcus Anderson, who owns an insurance business in Abilene, Texas, expressed some optimism. I knew that he would be strong on his principles.
“We were the better man. We knew it wasn’t coming”.
The theme of the third night of the Republican National Convention was “Make America First Again”.
“I assume there’s a reason the Trump campaign wanted me to speak”, he said. McIver said she wrote down the passages and later included them in the speech. It may cost your life By Elizabeth Lee Vliet, M.D.
“Please, don’t stay home in November”, Sen Cruz said to applause and chants for him to endorse Mr Trump. A favorite of evangelicals, Pence was expected to urge conservatives to shed their unease about Trump by explaining why he chose to partner with a man who is his opposite in temperament, experience and in some cases, policy. “And, yes, build a wall”, Cruz said as the crowd chanted “build the wall”.
Cruz’s former campaign manager said he’ll continue to fight for his issues – even if it ruffles the feathers of a candidate or president Trump.
At a rally with some 900 delegates, donors, GOP officials and supporters at a lakeside restaurant, Cruz never mentioned Trump’s name during an appearance billed as a “thank you” event for supporters.
The Texas senator stressed that he did not utter a single negative word about Trump directly, even though he did encourage Republicans to vote their “conscience”, language that originated in the anti-Trump movement.
“Vote for the one candidate who does not need this job”, he said. Many factions were present, including gun-rights activists who were exercising their right to bear arms as open carry. “And then at the last minute, once he said, ‘vote your conscience, ‘ I blew a gasket”.
Cruz responded that when he originally made the pledge he had every intention of keeping it until the race became personal.
Cope said “the politically correct thing to do would be to stand up there, throw up his hands and say, ‘Kumbayah, love you, let’s go forward'”.
“He wouldn’t do that”. Ted Cruz said he will be “watching and listening” but won’t “sit down, shut up, support the team”. “And (we’ll) see how he conducts the campaign”.
Perhaps hoping for a similar effect, Cruz told this year’s delegates: “People are fed up with politicians who don’t listen to them, fed up with a corrupt system that benefits the elites, instead of working men and women”. Ted Cruz’s father, Rafael Cruz, had been involved in the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. I reported in May that Cruz was nearly certainly not going to back Trump. “But he has some fine qualities that I think will be good for our country”.
Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, speaking after Cruz, said that by the logic of the Texan’s arguments, Trump was actually the only viable choice for President. When the speech ended – without an endorsement – the hall erupted in boos and Cruz’s wife had to be hustled out to protect her from angry delegates. “A vote for anyone other than Donald Trump this November is a vote for Hillary Clinton”.

These are principled, dedicated activists who normally are “in the trenches”, rain or shine, making phone calls and going door-to-door, she noted. That. I have seen lots of odd speeches at conventions past – Clint Eastwood talking to an empty chair and so on and so forth.
