Trump calls first debate moderator a Democrat; records show otherwise

Despite a small dip in her numbers from last month, Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton is maintaining a strong lead over Republican Donald Trump in NY, a new poll shows.

The NBC/WSJ poll surveyed 992 likely voters between September 16-19 and has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.2 percentage points.

Bill Clinton told supporters in Los Angeles in April that “California has been uncommonly good to my family”.

But the suburbs and upstate are a different story. “She will say anything to distract from that record”.

“The majority of independent voters don’t like Hillary Clinton [either]”, he said.

Hillary Clinton reacted to the weekend’s attacks by saying that they were a “sobering reminder that we need steady leadership in a risky world”. Clinton added, “I am absolutely in favor of and have always been an advocate for tough vetting, for making sure that we don’t let people into this country – and not just people who come here to settle, but we need a better visa system”. He may have said some things that make many of us cringe but I will easily overlook things he has SAID when I consider what Hillary has DONE. But why can’t we win NY? “And it polls well”.

Marginally in Trump’s favor is other NY polling.

Trump’s chosen platform was not the podium, but the bully pulpit – a television news chat show popular with conservative voters, underscoring how central the media has been to the real estate tycoon’s improbable campaign.

Clinton also had long looked to be comfortably ahead in Colorado, but she failed to lock the state down.

Trump started August in a polling hole against Clinton, as she rode a bump after the Democratic National Convention. Though there are many important issues that can affect the outcome, foreign policy continues to remain at the top of the list.

“On several key national issues, likely voters in traditionally “blue” NY identify far more with the positions taken by the Democratic nominee, rather than the Republican nominee”, Siena College pollster Steven Greenberg said. However, Trump has drawn almost even with Clinton this month as she has had a bout with pneumonia and relatively restrained behavior on the trail for Trump’s standards.

U.S. Sen. Johnny Isakson also holds a commanding lead over Democratic challenger Jim Barksdale, 50 percent to 34 percent, with 5 percent supporting Libertarian Allen Buckley and 10 percent undecided.

The poll’s respondents, selected by a sampling method created to resemble the demographic and regional profile of California voters, completed the survey online. This margin is similar among both white men (67 percent to 20 percent) and white women (65 percent to 21 percent).
