Trump calls for unity, endorses Ayotte, McCain
Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump endorsed Sen.

The speaker said it is his duty to speak up against Trump on issues like the Khan family or his criticism of an American-born judge of Mexican descent whom Trump had also attacked.
He also announced support for senators John McCain and Kelly Ayotte, two lawmakers facing tough re-election fights.
“But I’m not going to go down the road of litigating past Trump comments”, said Ryan. “I’m not there right now”, Ryan replied.
Trump heavily emphasized his outsider status in the lead-up to delivering his endorsements of three incumbent Republicans with a combined tenure in Congress of more than a half century.
“We don’t win at any level with anything and as a unified party, we will lead our country to unity, as well”, Trump said Friday evening.
Most prominently, Ryan criticized the Republican presidential nominee’s call for a ban on Muslim migration to the USA, and said that Trump’s attack on a federal judge was “the textbook definition of a racist comment”. “I understand and embrace the wisdom of Ronald Reagan’s big tent within the party”, Trump stated.
On Tuesday, the Republican presidential nominee refused to endorse Ryan, using the speaker’s own words against him.
Ryan was not at Trump’s Green Bay rally.
“Mr. Trump on Monday will lay out a vision that’s a growth economic plan” that will focus on cutting taxes, cutting regulation, energy development and boosting middle-class wages, campaign chairman Paul Manafort said in remarks broadcast Sunday on Fox Business. The rally is being held on a Friday night opposite the opening ceremonies of the Olympics. On Thursday, he said that it was “distressing” that Trump hadn’t spent more time focusing on Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.
After some high-profile spats with the speaker of the house and two key senators, Trump did an about face. “He’s a good man”, said Donald Trump, to raucous applause.
“I like Paul, but these are terrible times for our country. We need very, very strong leadership”, he said. He’s a strong conservative leader. “And I just hate the way our veterans have been treated by John and other people”. “I’m not quite there yet”, Trump said in the Post interview. He reiterated his support for Trump hours before the endorsement, but he noted that his support wasn’t a “blank check” and pledged to speak out against the businessman’s divisive positions if necessary.
“He’s had a pretty odd run since the convention”, Ryan said on WTAQ radio in Green Bay.
Trump’s initial refusal to endorse Ryan was the latest wrinkle in their tenuous relationship.
“I have said during the interview and in many other occasions over the past months that what I told the Federal Bureau of Investigation, which he said was truthful, is consistent with what I have said publicly”, Mrs Clinton said.
Donald Trump received a lot of backlash after refusing to back several top Republicans for re-election.
Ryan had dismissed the importance of a Trump endorsement Friday morning in another local radio interview with WISN’s Jay Weber. “I like people who weren’t captured”.

“I’m just going to rise above this stuff, and I’m not going to get involved in some petty back and forth, I see no objective in that”.
