Trump calls on GOP to improve African American outreach
“Over the next 80 days, we are going to work very, very hard”, Trump told backers at a convention center here, adding that the November 8 election will bring “a new day in America”.

Donald Trump met with his newly-minted Hispanic advisory board in New York Saturday, sitting down with elected officials, business leaders and faith leaders, along with his new campaign team.
He continued: “I’ve asked the African-American community to honor me with their vote”, adding that he “fully recognize (s) the outreach to the African-American community is an area where the Republican Party must do better”. “The GOP is the party of Abraham Lincoln, and I want our party to be the home of the African American voter once again”.
Utilizing the new stump style adopted in the wake of a campaign shake-up – including use of a prepared speech and teleprompter at a mass rally – Trump employed old and new phrases like “law and order”, “America first” and “peace through strength”.
A Fox News poll released August 11 showed 66 percent of registered Latinos preferred Democrat Hillary Clinton, compared with 20 percent who favored Trump. He has also called for the deportation of the estimated 11 million undocumented immigrants from the country and said a judge overseeing a lawsuit against Trump University is unfit for the job because he is of Mexican heritage.
Later Saturday, Trump traveled to Virginia where he met with officers and detectives in the Stafford County Sherrif’s Office in Stafford, Virginia.
“What the hell do you have to lose?” said Trump, asking for black voters’ support.
The event capped a week that included the departure of Trump’s campaign chairman and the sudden addition of two new top aides.
A cheery Mr Trump greeted reporters in NY, accompanied by campaign manager Kellyanne Conway and Mr Stephen Bannon, the Breitbart News Network executive brought on this month as chief executive of Mr Trump’s White House bid.
Clinton now leads Trump by 11.2 percentage points in Virginia, according to an average of recent polls reported on the Real Clear Politics website.
He also called Clinton’s Running mate, former Virginia Governor Tim Kaine a “failed governor” and “unpopular” in his own state.
Yet on Saturday, Trump – who has publicly raised the specter of a “rigged” election in recent weeks as polls have shown him trailing Clinton – ripped McAuliffe, a longtime Clinton friend and ally, for his decision earlier this year to restore voting rights to thousands of convicted felons.

If he wins Virginia, Trump told backers, “we are going to the White House, and we are going to take care of our people”.
