Trump Calls Reporter Who Grilled Ivanka ‘Non-Intelligent’
Working mother Ivanka Trump stood next to her father, Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump, when he revealed his child care plan this week.

This came just after Trump unveiled his child care and paternity plan at a Pennsylvania rally Tuesday night. “She has been working so very hard”, Trump said in his speech.
“By recapturing fraud and improper payments in the unemployment insurance program, we can provide six weeks of paid-maternity leave to any mother with a newborn child whose employer does not provide the benefit”, Trump told the Aston audience.
What estimates that we do have about the extent of unemployment say it costs the government about $3 billion every year, which sounds like a lot but is pennies in the big scheme of things and hardly enough to pay for a new benefit program that would supposedly cover all Americans moms.
“Respectfully, Hillary Clinton has been around for decades and there’s no policy benefiting either mothers or fathers in terms of paid leave”.
Trump’s expanded plan would allow parents to deduct the average cost of childcare from their taxes.
The only significant change Trump has made from his original proposal is that he’s planning to exclude high earners (individuals earning more than $250,000, families earning more than $500,000) from claiming the deduction.
Trump would also create a Dependent Care Savings Account, which would allow “tax-deductible contributions and tax-free appreciation year-to-year”, according to a campaign-provided fact sheet. “Our plan will bring relief to working and middle class families”. That interview, published on Wednesday, was cut short, however, after Trump avoided uncomfortable questions about how the plan would affect same-sex parents.
“I recognize that far too women could say the same for themselves and that I am more fortunate than most”, she said. To help lower-income parents, the government would match half of the first $1,000 deposited per year.
“I think what I was – there’s plenty of time for you to editorialize around this, but I think he put forth a really incredible plan that has pushed the boundaries of what anyone else is talking about”, Ivanka Trump said.
And when she introduced the Republican candidate for president, he was met with even more wild applause, and he laid out his plan to make that happen.
– When established for an elderly dependent, the dependent care funds can be used for adult day care, in-home or long-term care services.
This wouldn’t be noteworthy for her father – Donald Trump is so loose with the truth that cable news has had to invent a new chyron style to point out that he’s lying onscreen – but Ivanka Trump has mostly been able to avoid this kind of misstep.
Clinton, meanwhile, proposes that no family should spend more than 10 percent of its income on child care.

Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton has proposed ensuring 12 weeks of paid family leave. Some incentives now in place have been ineffective because they’ve been hampered by “very complicated regulations”, said the Trump aide.

“While my opponent slanders you as deplorable and irredeemable, I call you, hard-working American Patriots who love your country, love your families, and want a better future for all Americans”, Trump said.
