Trump campaign aide Paul Manafort gets a new title

Hundreds of New Jersey residents, students, teachers, veterans, environmentalists, union members, and progressive activists rallied outside Trump and Christie’s fundraiser to protest what they cite as hateful policies with a rallying cry of “No Hate in the Garden State”.

Shock: Trump spoke to the crowd about Nabisco moving jobs to Mexico and said that he was boycotting their products. You’re not eating Oreos, are you? The New York tycoon turned and pointed to his former opponent: “You’re not eating Oreos anymore”. She said Trump could be more diplomatic, but overall, she said he’s “a smart man” and best for the presidency. “We don’t have a choice”, Trump said.

Earlier Thursday, Trump’s campaign announced the promotion of senior campaign aide Paul Manafort. Trump and Christie will headline the event as well as a separate, $200 per-person fundraiser to pay down Christie’s roughly $250,000 presidential campaign debt. He raised almost $4 million from New Jersey donors, far more than any other Republican candidate, according to federal records. He is also appearing at a separate $25,000-per-ticket event to benefit the state’s Republican Party.

And it was a sort of homecoming for Trump as well, who made his name operating casinos in Atlantic City and still “employs so many people in New Jersey, [he] hate [s] to even think about it”.

As is customary at Trump events, the scene outside the rally was part of the storyline, too. Trump also told those in the crowd wary about his call for a potential trade war in China: “A lot of you don’t know the world of economics”. “And we’re going to have people come into our country, but they’re going to come into our country legally”.

“We are going to build a wall”, he said.

“When will we get tough, smart and vigilant? You never, ever make a mistake by standing by your friends”, Christie said. “It’s a awful thing unless you’re doing the punching – then it’s OK”.

Christie noted the two had once been rivals, but said he’d chose to endorse Trump due to their personal friendship. “For her to able to continue to run is an absolute disgrace in my opinion”.

He also weighed in on the plane crash in the Mediterranean Sea, calling it a “terrible tragedy” and definitively saying it was an act of terror. He railed against Clinton for not using the term “radical Islamic terrorism”. “There is no way that I won’t be (the nominee)”, she said.

“I just helped syrian refugees yesterday”, added Ms DeLeon.

“Gov. Christopher Christie is in Trenton until the end of 2017, if he wants to be, holding what is constitutionally one of the strongest governor’s seats in the nation”, adds Mr. Carroll.
