Trump campaign chief Paul Manafort: Ted Cruz ‘made a mistake’ at RNC

Trump was less upset.
“Wow, Ted Cruz got booed off the stage, didn’t honor the pledge!”
Trump says he saw Cruz’s speech two hours early “but let him speak anyway”.
Democrat Hillary Clinton, in a tweet, quickly echoed Cruz, saying, “Vote your conscience”.
Eric Trump, the middle son of Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump, addressed the GOP convention on Wednesday, telling delegates his father’s business acumen will translate to results in the Oval Office. It was an “awful, selfish speech”, Christie told MSNBC.
Republicans have used their convention to rally loyalists, but fissures have persisted after a brutal primary battle in which Trump defeated 16 rivals.
“We have the right to free speech”, Weidenkopf said.
The Texas senator was heckled Thursday morning as he spoke to his home state delegation to the Republican National Convention.
The Indiana governor said he’s confident the Trump-Pence ticket will win as they are running on the issues facing the country and leveling with the American people about the stakes.
Rep. Steve King, R-Iowa, disagreed.
Cruz sought the support of the Las Vegas casino magnate during his own bid for the 2016 nomination.
Heidi Cruz, Ted’s wife, was not even spared the bitter backlash from some on the floor.
In the middle of her plagiarism scandal, Donald Trump is sticking by his wife – and her speechwriter. But she said the presidential contender rejected her offer.
Gohmert was more reserved in his reaction but still made it clear he wasn’t pleased with how things transpired.
“That was my mistake”, McIver said, “and I feel bad for the chaos I have caused Melania and the Trumps, as well as to Mrs. Obama”.
Jeanita McNulty, of Davenport, a longtime Republican who was in the arena, said “he missed a great opportunity to unite the party”.

“Our party now has a nominee, and I don’t know…” he added before booing from the crowd interrupted him, accompanied by fingers pointing upward. But perhaps unlike Cruz, Franks realizes the alternative to not supporting Trump is effectively supporting Clinton. Cruz’s wife Heidi left the stage surrounded by security as at least one convention-goer screamed “Goldman Sachs” at her, a reference to her lucrative career in finance.
