Trump campaign manager says Trump’s pre-campaign positions do not matter
“Just before I got off the plane, a bomb went off in NY, and nobody knows exactly what’s going on, but, boy, we are really in a time”.

Addressing the Congressional Black Caucus gala for the last time as president, Barack Obama delivered an impassioned plea to the African-American community to help stop Donald Trump, saying he would consider it a “personal insult” to his legacy if black voters didn’t turn out for Hillary Clinton. Trump alleged that Hillary wants to destroy Second Amendment, referring to the US Constitution’s clause that enshrines the rights of Americans to bear arms.
Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump speaks during a campaign event at Trump International HotelâÂÂon Friday. The organization is for family members of those killed by illegal immigrants.
Clinton was honored at the dinner for becoming the first woman to receive the presidential nomination of a major party. A police statement says hotel staff had asked Thompson to leave the building, and he complied. He said, “This guy is unqualified to be president and he shows no interest in even gaining the rudimentary knowledge required to make really hard decisions on a day-to-day basis”.
Clinton framed the stakes of the election in terms of protecting the Obama legacy.
“This is a disgusting day”, said Rep. G.K. Butterfield, a Democrat from North Carolina and chair of the CBC.
Democratic vice presidential nominee Tim Kaine broke with his running mate Hillary Clinton over her comment that some Trump supporters are “irredeemable”. But he will take on Trump’s remark that black voters have “nothing to lose” by supporting him. “But we are not going to go after an entire religion”, Clinton said.
Obama also sought to blunt Trump’s recent efforts to reach out to black voters, saying Trump at one point in the race had said there’s never been a worse time to be a black person.
Clinton’s vice presidential pick did, however, echo her use of the word “deplorable”. “And as Michelle says, we’ve tried to be role models, not just for our own girls, but for all children, because we know they watch everything we do as adults”.
“I do believe that, Chris”, Kaine said.
He continued: “By the way, if she gets to pick her judges, nothing you can do, folks”.
“I’ve been briefed about the bombings in NY and New Jersey”, Clinton said in a back-and-forth with reporters on her plane Saturday, alluding to the pipe bomb-style device found on the Jersey Shore.

Mr Trump ignored questions from reporters about his switch and has yet to explain why he abandoned the “birther” stance that fuelled his political fame and was viewed by critics as an attempt to delegitimise the nation’s first African-American president.
