Donald Trump’s appearance on The Dr. Oz Show, which aired Thursday, featured Mehmet Oz rattling off a series of questions about whether Trump suffered from ailments, from diabetes to thyroid problems, to which the GOP presidential nominee repeatedly responded that he didn’t. Oz revealed the stat among a laundry list of test results from Trump’s recent physical exam. He had promised in an economic policy speech in Detroit last month that he would offer more details on his healthcare plan, which now consists of a brief seven-point recitation of standard Republican proposals on his campaign website and some outlets had reported he would share some details on the Oz show. “I just don’t think you can do the work if you’re not healthy”. The letter from Trump’s long-time doctor, Harold N. Bornstein, lists Trump’s weight, cholesterol, blood pressure, blood sugar and other numbers. “I am not in favor of prescription for birth control”.
“If a patient of mine had these records, I’d be really happy and I’d send them on their way.”
Oz says he has invited both presidential candidates on the show, and that Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton is considering the offer.
Oz noted Trump is 6 foot 3 inches and weighs more than 230 pounds, wondering if his doctor had discussed losing weight since his BMI is pushing the boundary of acceptable.
“I think I could lose a little weight”. Trump said that although at the age of 70 he would be the oldest president in history, he feels “as good today as I did when I was 30”.
“Federal health guidelines urge people over age 65 who have no health conditions that would limit exercise to get about 2½ hours a week of moderate activity, such as brisk walking, and to do some muscle-strengthening activities at least two days a week”. I really enjoy doing it. Trump says he wants to lose 15 to 20 pounds, which would put him at a weight that is considered healthy. His mother was “mentally unbelievable” toward the end of her life and “would have lived well into her 90’s” had she not “had an accident”, Trump said. There was no immediate family history of cancer or heart disease. His father had Alzheimer’s late in life, according to his obituary.

Trump also said during the rally that Clinton is “in all fairness … lying in bed and getting better”. Clinton’s pneumonia helped prompt increased scrutiny of the candidates’ health.
