Former House speaker Newt Gingrich has said he is among the “five or six people” being considered as the running mate of presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump who is expected to announce his name next week. (The latter figure includes some money raised at his inaugural fundraisers at the end of May.) The campaign claims more than 400,000 supporters, with 94% donating under the $200 threshold required for individual disclosure. Still, Trump’s June haul is less than Hillary Clinton’s, who raised $68.5 million – $40.5 for the campaign and $28 million for the Democratic National Committee and state parties through two joint committees. That brings Trump’s total investment to $55 million, they said.

The sum, raised between the campaign and the larger Trump Victory effort with the Republican National Committee, is more than 16 times what he raised in May-the month in which he secured the nomination.
The Trump campaign’s finance chairman, Steven Mnuchin, said he was “extremely pleased” with the totals from June. “Clinton, money, the most campaign corrupt person”, said Duke.

In May, Trump raised just $3 million. Even adding in the additional $3.8m, it leaves a $5m discrepancy between Trump’s stated and reported contributions to his campaign. Party fundraisers are finalizing a busy schedule of coming finance events for Trump, who is set to headline several events almost every week through the end of the summer, according to a person familiar with the plans. Trump also likened the use of a six-pointed star to a sheriff’s star. The campaign very much appreciates the broad support.
