Mr Trump’s campaign manager said Mrs Clinton had insulted “millions of Americans”, with her comments.

To just be grossly generalistic, you can put half of Trump supporters into what I call the ‘basket of deplorables.’ Right? “Racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamaphobic, you name it”.

Mr. Trump’s stance on Russian Federation and Mr. Putin is in stark contrast with the conventional Republican position. “If she had done a phenomenal job, I wouldn’t have been running”. Russian President Vladmir Putin emphasized in 2013 how the network “reflect [s] the Russian government’s official position”.

On Saturday Trump’s supporters fired back on social media.

Clinton, campaigning in NY on September 9, said the Republican candidate’s appearance on RT America on September 8, one day after he praised Putin for being a better leader than U.S. President Barack Obama, demonstrates that he is not fit to fill the highest office in the nation.

The Trump campaign has also been blasting Clinton for her fundraisers – Trump’s son Eric this week criticized her for raising money while his father was in Mexico. Just words coming out that said, “I know people. And she wouldn’t be prosecuted”.

The White House said it had no comment on Trump’s remarks. “I will be President for all of the people, and together we will Make America Great Again”. “It’s like incredible”, he said. She then categorized Trump’s base as divided between people yearning for change, but disparaged the other half as “a basket of deplorables”. He has given voice to their websites that used to only have 11,000 people – now how 11 million.

Speaking at an evening fundraiser in NY, the former USA secretary of state said Trump had given voice to hateful rhetoric from such individuals through his behaviour as a candidate for the White House.

US Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump hit back at rival Hillary Clinton, saying her comments on his supporters were insulting.

“Basket of Deplorables” quickly became a trending hashtag on Twitter on Saturday.

As I said, many of Trump’s supporters are hardworking Americans who just don’t feel like the economy or our political system are working for them.

A Reuters poll from July that surveyed more than 16,000 Americans found that, statistically, Trump supporters are in fact more likely to harbor racist attitudes.

“No conversation about our national security would be complete unless we acknowledged that the nominee on the other side promises to do things that will make us less safe”, Clinton told reporters. “I think maybe the Democrats are putting that out”, Mr Trump said, adding: “I hope that if they are doing something, I hope that somebody’s going to be able to find out, so they can end it, because that would not be appropriate at all”.

Clinton spokesman Nick Merrill said in a series of tweets after the remarks that Mrs Clinton has been talking about the “alternative right”, or “alt-right” movement, which often is associated with efforts on the far right to preserve “white identity”, oppose multiculturalism and defend “Western values”.

Trump criticized USA policy in Iraq from the days of Republican President George W. Bush, who ordered the American-led invasion in 2003 in the aftermath of the September 11, 2001, al Qaeda attacks on the United States.
