Trump campaign shakes up leadership in latest sign of tumult
The shakeup comes as opinion polls show Trump, a wealthy NY businessman who has never held elected office, falling behind Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton in the race for the 8 November election.

“They’re terrific people, they’re winners, they’re champs, and we need to win it”, Trump said of the two, according to the Associated Press.
Rudy Giuliani says the Trump campaign staff shakeup is about ensuring good management for a campaign that is getting “bigger and bigger and bigger”.
Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is bringing two new managers to the top of his campaign in a bid to recover ground he has lost in recent weeks. “I think that’s the type of mind set the campaign wants to prove to the Clinton people, that they’re going to take this fight directly to her”.
Mr. Mercer has converted his pro-Cruz super PAC to one backing Mr. Trump, changing its name to Make America Number One.
Democrats have expressed concerns about Trump receiving sensitive information, but Trump says Hillary Clinton is the one who “can’t keep anything private”. As the November election draws closer, GOP leaders have called on Trump to moderate his message and reach out to a broader audience outside of his ultra-conservative white male base.
Manafort spoke of a pivot in tone and style in his early days on the campaign, but all along Trump has insisted there will be no change.
Trump, whose campaign is built on his persona as a victor, said several times Wednesday that the campaign was “doing well”, and said his speech hours earlier in Wisconsin Tuesday was well-received.
“I’ve known both of them for a long time”. Everyone talks about, ‘Oh, well you’re going to pivot, you’re going to.’ I don’t want to pivot. The Clinton campaign and its allies have already spent more than $100 million on TV ads. A campaign adviser told The Wall Street Journal Tuesday that the first round of spots would air Friday in Florida, Ohio, North Carolina and Pennsylvania.
On Wednesday morning, Lewandowski weighed in on the changes, praising Conway’s long experience in Republican campaigns and long-standing ties to Trump. “If you start pivoting you are not being honest with people”, Trump told WKDT.
Shapiro said Bannon, who he described as a “bully”, had “sold out” the mission of Breritbart’s late founder, Andrew Breitbart, “in order to back another bully, Donald Trump”.
Stephen Bannon, executive chairman of the influential Breitbart News site, will serve as the campaign’s chief executive. “He wants to have people around him who want to win at all costs”, Lewandowski replied.
“What he’s going to do is remain true to himself, which is what this campaign has been about”, Lewandowski said.

“Unlike the failed campaigns of John McCain and Mitt Romney, who took the advice of the GOP establishment consultants and the media and ‘moved to the center, ‘ Donald Trump has moved right to bring movement conservatives into partnership with the conservative populists who won him the Republican primaries”.
