Trump campaign splits from Evansville office near Cruz staff

If Trump gets a majority in any of the congressional districts, he takes all three district delegates; if Trump has a plurality (likely in nearly all districts), he gets two out of the three.

There are still 31 more delegates that will be decided in June, but this was the case for many districts this weekend – with Trump winning the vote totals, and Cruz winning the political game behind the scenes.

“I think Ted Cruz can win IN and California’s up for grabs”, Graham predicted.

Combined with the nine he secured at county meetings last month and a party official who promised to support him, Cruz will head into July with at least 24 of the Cowboy State’s 29 delegates. The 42 delegates were chosen on Saturday.

In New York, 44 of the Democratic delegates are superdelegates who can vote for either candidate.

Donald Trump is dessert: voters choose him when voters get a chance to choose. He’s been polling just over that number. It’s why out of the 17 Republican candidates who started this race, five of them are supporting our campaign.

Republican state lawmaker and Cruz supporter Rod Montoya criticized efforts to extend the deadline.

But it says something about Republican grass roots activists that they do not trust their own voters with the decision on a nominee. That could deal a blow to Trump even if Cruz has a bad night.

The delegate system is an absolute farce.

“Here is the man that turned down [Hurricane] Sandy money for this state”, Trump said Monday. “But [the delegates] have been elected by the voters in the first place, and this is a battle to earn the support of the American voters across the country”.

Elsewhere, anger at the process was somewhat muted.

Other delegates chosen from the First District are Kay Godwin and Linda Olson.

Despite the overall success of Cruz, the Trump campaign pointed to a few victories and cast Saturday’s contests as beating expectations going in.

But in several interviews on Sunday, Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus again denied that the delegate selection rules are rigged against Trump.

Ohio Gov. John Kasich won zero delegates in the Georgia primary election, but his campaign claimed four delegates in the state’s district conventions Saturday, including state Sen.
