Trump Campaign Weighs in on Ted Cruz’s RNC Speech
He has staked his future presidential hopes on the chance that Republicans will view him as a principled conservative and not a right-wing Judas. Ted Cruz, still refused to endorse him – and happily took the convention stage anyway.

Former primary opponent John Kasich is in the state, because he’s the governor, and won’t go anywhere near the convention hall. “And like each of you, I want to see the principles that our party believes prevail in November”. During his speech, Cruz failed to even mention Trump by name.
“[The National Enquirer is] a magazine that, frankly, in many respects, should be very respected”, he said Friday, referring to a publication that also once told us Cher had three months to live back in 2014. He addressed the Texas delegation earlier today, where he promised that he wouldn’t be speaking negatively about Trump going forward.
Trump allies were furious. Hemmer told Collins that no one could be happy about the fact that media coverage is less on Trump’s vice presidential pick, Indiana Gov. Mike Pence, and Trump’s address later tonight-and more on Cruz’s antics last night. He’s not standing up to Trump on behalf of the women being put down, or the Mexicans being called criminals, or the Muslims being called terrorists.
Those Ted Cruz and Jeb Bush insults will look like child’s play compared to what the Clinton campaign will throw at him.
Beyond that the two men have a history of animosity. He doesn’t know the difference between truth and lies.
So the Trump campaign needs to be ready for war.
There is still time, of course, but Trump already has a couple of strikes against him.
Trump repeatedly mocked Cruz throughout the campaign as “Lyin’ Ted”. Trump also took jabs at the appearance of Cruz’s wife, Goldman Sachs executive Heidi Cruz, and the Texas senator responded that Trump is a “sniveling coward” and later “a pathological liar”. I am watching and I am listening. He insisted he would not be a “servile puppy dog”, especially after Trump’s criticism of the senator’s wife and father. In a tweet Thursday morning, Trump said the Republican Party is “very united” except for “a small group of people who have suffered massive and embarrassing losses”.
In an interview on Fox News, he insisted Thursday morning that Trump would stand by our allies despite the remarks, but added “those countries must pay their fair share”.

Trump’s highly anticipated acceptance speech was expected to be part bluster and part Elizabeth Warren as he tried to make the case against Hillary while appealing to the disaffected middle class. “Harry Truman would be ashamed”, Clinton adviser Jake Sullivan said in a statement. However, while we’ve come to know them a bit more this week, you may be wondering which children come from which of Donald Trump’s highly publicized marriages. Cruz is deeply unpopular with many fellow Republicans on Capitol Hill, after leading a politically disastrous government shutdown in 2013 and clashing with party leadership in the Senate, and defenders were few among elected officials. “ISIS has spread across the region and the world”, Trump said. He congratulated Trump for his victory and encouraged Americans to vote their consciences.
