Trump Can’t Help But Interrupt In First Joint Interview With Pence

Just four hours after Trump officially named Governor Mike Pence as his running mate in New York City, a line of about 100 supporters waited outside the Indianapolis Executive Airport hangar in Zionsville.
Pence started to answer, saying “I have a great deal of respect for John McCain”, before he was asked if thought Trump went too far. He is a solid, solid person, .
“I think this is a good man who’s been talking about the issues the American people care about”, he said.
Pence spent 12 years in Congress before being elected governor and his demeanour is as calm as Trump’s is fiery.
Pence was quiet and low-key for much of the interview, while Trump cut in to answer questions intended for the governor.
“While she didn’t pay the price she should have, she’s going to pay that price when November 8 comes around”. We’re going to change things around. “He didn’t know what he was doing”, Trump said.
In foreign policy, Trump would lead from strength, Pence said and added, “He will rebuild the arsenal of democracy, stand with our allies and hunt down and destroy the enemies of our freedom”.
Mr. Trump had been scheduled to announce his choice on Friday at an event in NY, but said Thursday the event would be postponed in light of the attack in Nice, France.
Trump appeared with Indiana Gov. Mike Pence at a midtown Manhattan hotel, an unofficial kickoff event to the Republican National Convention two days before it opens in Cleveland.
Pence, along with New Jersey Governor Chris Christie and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, were considered the front runners for the job.
Pence, who describes himself as “a Christian, a conservative and a Republican, in that order”, is regarded as a safe choice within conservative circles, able to pick up support among moderate Republicans and evangelical Christians. Trump released a logo Friday afternoon but it received some amusing reactions on social media, with many saying the logo was sexually suggestive.
