Trump, Carson tied for lead in new Iowa poll
Another 9% of Republicans say Trump is their second choice for president, the new Des Moines Register/Bloomberg poll, conducted last week, shows.

Almost half of Iowans likely to attend the state’s Republican presidential caucuses agree with Donald Trump’s call to deport 11 million undocumented immigrants, the latest Bloomberg Politics/Des Moines Register Iowa Poll shows.
Gov. Scott Walker of Wisconsin, who was in third in Monmouth’s August poll, dropped eight points to 3 percent.
The results are a stark contrast from Monmouth’s last Iowa poll, taken before the first Republican debate.
“These results mark a significant shake-up in the leaderboard from Monmouth’s Iowa poll taken before the first debate“, Patrick Murray, the director of the university’s polling institute, said in a release.
Trailing businessman Trump, retired neurosurgeon Carson and businesswoman Fiorina, the rest of the GOP 2016 pack languishes in single digits in Iowa: U.S. Sen.
Only 2 percent of voters said they would support Christie, putting him in a three-way tie for ninth place with Gov. John Kasich of Ohio and U.S. Sen. Jeb Bush is third in the poll with 10.4 percent.
While Trump is dominating the GOP, Carson seems to be creeping up quietly and appears to be a serious candidate for the presidential race.
Only 12 percent of respondents said they won’t be changing their mind as to who they will support in January’s caucuses. Marco Rubio – get 5 percent and 4 percent, respectively, in Monmouth’s Iowa poll.
Both Ben Carson and Donald Trump say they want to make America great again.
Carson is shaping up to be the man to beat Trump.
In fact, Trump has already battled it out with other rival Republican contenders, but what he has for Carson are all praises. In that poll, Trump was at 22%, Carson was at 14%, Walker was at 9%, Cruz was at 8% and Fiorina was at 7%.

According to Budzisz, who’s an associate professor of politics at Loras College, the key for Trump and Carson to maintain their positions at the top of field is to avoid gaffs and stay on message. 2, included 366 registered voters who identified as Republicans or leaning toward the GOP. The survey has a margin of error of plus or minus 5.1 percentage points. Additionally, Carson leads among evangelical voters and “very conservative” voters.
