Trump, Clinton almost tied in new SC poll

For Republicans, Trump is a bigger disaster than could have imagined.
In the key state of Colorado, Clinton leads Trump by 14 points, with 46 percent for Clinton and 32 percent for Trump among registered voters.
Hillary Clinton leads Donald Trump with significant advantages in at least three key battleground states, according to a new NBC News/Wall Street Journal/Marist poll released Friday.
In Virginia, the former secretary of state’s lead is 13 points, 46 percent to 33 percent. The margin of error for the Colorado, Florida and Virginia surveys is 3.3 percentage points; for North Carolina, it is 3.2 points.
In Virginia, the numbers are almost identical.
Trump had that level of support earlier this season, leading Clinton among white Catholics by 64 percent to 28 percent when he wrapped up his nomination victory in May.
Democrats said this poll shows Clinton has a chance to win.
What should terrify Republicans about the results is that support for Trump has dropped in two of the four swing states over the past month.

Recent polls in other swing states, including Ohio, Iowa and Pennsylvania, also give Clinton a lead. If it appears that Trump’s numbers are dragging down Senatorial candidates and others, it may come to having to support the presidential candidate or giving up on the White House and instead focusing all efforts into winning the House and Senate. In Florida, incumbent Republican Senator Marco Rubio is leading by six points, but in Colorado the Democratic incumbent Senator is leading by 15 points. But his edge among this group has been quite variable: He led among these voters by 27 points in March, 36 in May and 19 in July, but the margin was only 3 points in June and was down by 6 in the latest ABC/Post poll, produced for ABC by Langer Research Associates.
