Trump, Clinton tension seeps into jokes at annual charity dinner
Down in the polls and with time running out, Trump has argued that the election system is rigged against him.

Wallace asked tough questions of Hillary Clinton as well, including about the “pay to play” accusations surrounding the Clinton Foundation and her tenure as secretary of state. She began by admitting that she took a break from her “rigorous nap schedule” to attend the dinner, adding that “it’s a treat for all of you, too, because I charge a lot for speeches like this”.
“I want to make a major announcement today”, he said at a rally in Delaware, Ohio. ‘Vote for me. I’ve been working on these problems for 30 years. Clinton’s campaign has said Russian Federation was behind the hack.
Trump has repeatedly jabbed at the comedian and actress, including during one of the presidential debates.
Referring to accusations by several women that Mr. Trump made unwanted advances, the first lady said, “Maybe that’s why he demeans and humiliates women as if we’re objects meant exclusively for pleasure and entertainment, rather than human beings worthy of love and respect”. “Her speeches at the Democratic National Convention and in New Hampshire last week were sharper, more targeted and more cutting than anything I’ve seen in a previous first lady”.
“We feel that if the election happened today, we feel pretty good about the state of the race here in OH”, he added. And a CNN poll gave Trump a three-point lead, within the margin of error. And surveys in Arizona show Clinton could take that traditionally Republican state.
Sen. Tim Kaine, Clinton’s vice-presidential running mate, made two stops in OH on Wednesday. The only time he has mentioned Mrs. Obama during the campaign has been to attempt to poke holes in her support for Clinton by reminding voters of the fierce fight for the 2008 Democratic nomination Clinton fought against President Barack Obama. Michelle Obama gives a speech and everyone loves it, it’s fantastic, they think she is absolutely great. “That’s a good sign of us”. “I thank God I was able to see the first African-American president”, she said. “Proving once again I have the stamina to be president”.
The first lady continued, saying Trump doesn’t understand or speak for Latino and female voters.
Donald Trump is stepping back only slightly from his refusal to say during his debate with Hillary Clinton whether he would concede if he loses on Election Day. His resistance, threatening to undermine the essence of American democracy, was roundly rejected by fellow Republicans. “I thought we lived in a different world until Trump came along”, said Leslie Pinder, a 57-year-old Tucson voter who backed Sanders in the primary. “After listening to Hillary rattle on and on and on, I don’t think so badly of Rosie O’Donnell anymore”.
As the dinner ended, they shook hands – a gesture they notably avoided at Wednesday’s debate.
“Here she is in public, pretending not to hate Catholics”, he said.
Some of Trump’s jokes were so pointed that many in the well-heeled crowd turned on the nominee midway through his remarks and showered him with jeers, an unprecedented act at a white-tie charity dinner that raised more than $6 million for poor children in NY.

“I’d like to address an important religious matter, the issue of going to confession. That wouldn’t be fair; it wouldn’t be true”, Clinton said. “But I know we can make progress together”.
