Marco Rubio was at second place with 23.9 percent (five delegates), Sen.

Among voters with college degrees, according to the poll, Trump had 43 percent, followed by Rubio with 29 percent, Cruz with 20 percent, and Carson and Kasich with 4 percent.

The race for the nomination in both major political parties has produced candidates who reflect a deepening anger among American voters with the nation’s political establishment and the gridlock for much of the Obama administration. In the remaining electoral contests, 2,347 delegates are still available, according to AP.

Trump, the GOP front-runner, explained on NBC’s “Today” that he believes that his caustic campaigning style helped eliminate several competitors, so he’s not going to stop just yet.

Trump said, “You know, we weren’t expected a couple of months ago, we weren’t expected to win this one”. We have a dynamic where as long as there are four people running, dividing up the non-Trump vote, you’ll get results like last night. “We won with poorly educated”, he said after the victory in Nevada. “We’re beating the governor”, he said.

“We won with the highly educated”. With won with old. We won with poorly educated. As that happens, I think we’re only going to get stronger. “I love this place, I love this state, I love Las Vegas”.

During his campaign, Trump has also called for a ban on Muslims entering the United States, triggering sharp reaction from across the world.

Trump’s sweeping and decisive victory in the Nevada caucuses was declared by nearly all major U.S. TV networks immediately after the polls closed at 12:00 a.m. EST (0500 GMT).

“This was a great evening”, Trump said in his victory speech.

There were reports of problems at some caucus sites.

Trump’s success in Nevada may increase the pressure on his opponents to somehow join forces against a common enemy, the New York Times reported. It takes 1,237 delegates to win the Republican nomination for president.
