Trump comes to financial rescue for Christie, state GOP
Donald Trump came to the aid of his political ally Chris Christie on Thursday night, headlining a fundraiser to help retire the New Jersey governor’s presidential campaign debt of almost $250,000.

“And if Hillary Clinton gets in”, he said, “I don’t know if our country can ever recover”.
A surprise revenue shortfall of more than $800 million will force Republican Gov. Chris Christie’s administration to cut into programs like charity care and dip into the state’s surplus, officials said Wednesday. “And Chris you can’t even give them a table and a seat?”
Chris Christie’s pained facial expressions standing behind Donald Trump during the presumptive nominee’s Super Tuesday victory speech made the New Jersey governor a national laughing stock. But he said he wants to hear more specifics from Mr. Trump and to see the real estate mogul act “presidential”.
“National downward trends in capital gains and other extraordinary sources of volatile tax revenues are impacting New Jersey”, Scudder told the Assembly budget panel. Just do me a favor.
“He’s a great guy, and he’s a great governor”, Trump said.
However, to one protester, a hypothetical Trump presidency would prove so catastrophic that it could function as a reset button for the entire USA government.
“[Trump’s] going to create jobs and he’s telling the American people the truth and he’s not a fearmonger”, says supporter Suzanne Caruso. He’s really going to let people know we’re not playing around anymore. “There is no way that I won’t be (the nominee)”, she said.
Trump also noted the crash of an EgyptAir jet in the Mediterranean Sea early Thursday: “What just happened about 12 hours ago?” Trump continued to lash out at many of his competitors as he went on to win the majority of the primary contests, and most of his former rivals have not endorsed him after exiting the race.
Despite Trump trumpeting Christie’s accomplishments to his own constituents, the former candidate – whose term ends after the 2017 election – may get a better reception outside his home state.
Jeff Tittel, director of the Sierra Club in New Jersey, was among them, and he articulated a popular argument in this state: that Governor Christie has been spending too much time with Trump.
“We don’t want America to be weak and disrespected, we want America to be strong and respected”, Christie told the crowd. “Here’s what it is: I’m going to make great deals for our country”. “There is no way that I won’t be”, said Clinton, who is 90 delegates short of clinching the nomination, though Sanders continues to win contests and has vowed to march on to the Democratic convention in July. While Trump usually reads off negative statistics on the economy of the place he’s visiting, his stats Thursday sounded like Christie talking points, touting the state’s economic improvements.
