Trump Continues to Dump on FNC’s Kelly

Trump’s been fixated on Megyn Kelly since she dared to call him out on his sexism while moderating an early debate, refusing to show up on Fox shows and aggressively attacking their journalists and anchors on Twitter.

Following days of GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump disparaging Fox News host Megyn Kelly, the network fired back on Friday. “Never worth watching. (It is) always a hit piece on Trump”.

The only way to understand his preoccupation, I think, is Ross Douthat’s way: “Trump envisions his wedding to Megyn Kelly as the made-for-TV highlight of his presidency-for-life”. But Trump has unleashed a steady stream of tweets this week attacking Kelly for what he characterized as unfair coverage of his campaign.

Trump and Kelly were reunited at the third Fox News debate, on March 3, where Trump struck a much more convivial tone. Sources inside Fox told Gabriel Sherman previous year, after Kelly’s first run-in with Trump at the August debate, that she was receiving death threats.

He skipped a Republican debate hosted by Fox News in January after complaining Kelly would be one of three moderators.

Among the other things Trump has tweeted in the past few days to criticize Kelly…

The network issued an angry statement after Trump targeted the anchor yet again on Friday, urging his followers to boycott Kelly’s show, the Hill reports.

When asked during the interview about her career choices, Megyn said that women “tend to be pleasers”. During a new interview in MORE, Kelly claims she would have stood up more for O’Reilly when talking to Trump if the situation were reversed.

Knowing that Trump does not take criticism well, we’ll watch Trump’s Twitter timeline to see how he responds. I would submit to you I’m the second highest-rated show in all of cable news and I haven’t had Trump on in seven months. Fox News called Kelly an exemplary journalist and one of America’s leading anchors. And she will be feted as one of Variety’s honorees at the April 8 Power of Women New York luncheon highlighting prominent industry women and their charitable endeavors.

I really enjoyed the debate tonight even though the @FoxNews trio, especially @megynkelly, was not very good or professional!

“I’ve been thinking about that Margaret Thatcher quote where she said something like, ‘I love when they attack me personally because it means they don’t have a political argument left, ‘” she was quoted as telling the magazine.
