Trump also brought up Putin’s praising the GOP candidate earlier in the campaign, when he reportedly called Trump a “bright and talented person”.
Trump criticized USA policy in Iraq from the time of Republican President George W. Bush, who ordered the American-led invasion in 2003 in the aftermath of the September 11, 2001, al Qaeda attacks on the United States. At every opportunity he praises the former KGB officer, saying Putin is “stronger” than Obama and that as a leader he has done “far more than our president”.
Clinton was referencing an interview that Trump had with Larry King on his podcast “PoliticKING with Larry King”, which is licensed for television distribution to various channels, including RT America, a version of Russia Today, which is a state-run channel. “I think I would have a very, very good relationship with Putin and I think I would have a very, very good relationship with Russia”, Trump said Wednesday.
Trump’s campaign manager, Kellyanne Conway, defended Trump’s appearance to CNN’s Chris Cuomo on “New Day” on Friday, saying that Trump wasn’t criticizing the USA to say the Iraq War was a failure.

House Speaker Paul Ryan said Thursday he disagreed with Trump’s characterization of Putin, calling the Russian leader “an aggressor that does not share our interests” who “is violating the sovereignty of neighboring countries”. In June 2015, Ora announced it was dropping plans to work on a television project with Trump following his controversial remarks about undocumented Mexican immigrants.
