“He takes a lipid lowering agent and a low dose aspirin”, Bornstein wrote in the one-page letter.

Oz used a letter from Trump’s doctor as a point of discussion, and the campaign released that letter in the morning before the show aired.

Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump took on questions about their health and fitness yesterday in separate events after Clinton’s collapse Sunday turned health into a major campaign issue. The letter, which is signed by his personal doctor, was given to the Washington Post.

Trump’s episode of The Dr. Oz Show is set to air Thursday.

“We have to help them through the Medicaid system”, Mr. Trump told Mehmet Oz, MD, the host of the television show.

Dr Bornstein said the GOP candidate was in “excellent physical health”. Trump’s campaign had said Monday his medical information will be released “this week”. The audience also reported that Trump said his cholesterol is down thanks to the drug Statin. The campaign says it will release detailed information from the exam later in the week.

After Clinton fell noticeably ill last week, her staff first awkwardly said she had allergies, but later was forced to admit she had come down with pneumonia. Trump said he usually plays golf but can’t manage that during the campaign. Based on the test, Trump’s BMI is about 30, which the CDC says is considered “overweight”.

Trump said that when you’re running for president, “you have an obligation to be healthy” because the job requires it. However, CNN Money reported that although Trump surprised the audience by revealing some of his recent medical results, it will still fall short of what experts hope to hear with regard to the candidate’s health.

The Oz taping was closed to the press, so further Trump comments may not surface publicly until Thursday.

Oz has attracted his own share of controversy, getting dubbed “America’s quack” by science bloggers in 2014 and receiving credit for the so-called “Oz effect” of boosting sales of products that often include unproven alternative therapies. NY billionaire Donald Trump officially accepted the presidential nomination of the U.S. Republican Party Thursday night on the final day of the Republican National Convention.

“The specific numbers are credible”, said Dr. Oz. Her illness was not made public until after she was forced to leave a September 11 memorial service early on Sunday and was recorded stumbling and almost fainting as she tried to get into her motorcade’s van.
