Trump defends comment on Clinton: ‘Schlonged is not vulgar’
During a campaign stretch in Iowa, Hillary Clinton gave an interview where she issued her first response to Donald Trump since he started attacking her for her comments at Saturday’s Democratic Debate. “When I said Hillary got “schlonged” that meant beaten badly”, he said in one tweet.

“Even her race to Obama”, the GOP frontrunner said, speaking of Hillary Clinton’s 2008 presidential primary race against Barack Obama. According to Trump, Clinton was the most favored candidate to win and schlonged is the appropriate word for such a massive defeat and said that the mainstream media is circulating false meaning of the word.
At a Monday rally in Michigan, Mr. Trump had said: “Everything that’s been involved in Hillary has been losses”.
“I am sorry that they are disappointed now with President Obama”, she said to applause.
Clinton stood by her claim that ISIS operatives are using Donald Trump in recruitment videos for the terrorist organization. Clinton has been described as lacking the strength and stamina necessary for the role of U.S. president by Trump, but the latest remark has sparked off new controversy around him.
“His bigotry, his bluster, his bullying have become his campaign”.
A Reuters/Ipsos poll released on Monday found that Mr Trump would lose to Ms Clinton in a hypothetical head-to-head contest if the presidential election were held today.
“She’s a liar!” he repeated at the rally, labeling Clinton “not a president”.
In Iowa Tuesday, Clinton told her audience: “There is nothing they want more than to be able to claim that the United States is against Islam and against Muslims”.
“We are not responding to Trump but everyone who understands the humiliation this degrading language inflicts on all women should”, communications director Jennifer Palmieri tweeted on Tuesday.
Trump on Monday morning demanded an apology from Clinton for making the allegation, to which the Clinton camp responded with a swift, “Hell no”.
“I don’t like that, I’m totally against that”, said Trump.
Clinton is in Keota, a tiny town of roughly 1,000 people, because three students – Abby Schulte, Megan Adam and Kylea Tinnes – persistently showed up at events over the last few months to invite her to the small town.
In what appeared to be a more direct reference to Trump – though still without mentioning him by name – Clinton also said: “We shouldn’t let anybody bully his way into the presidency because that is not who we are as Americans”.
Meanwhile, one of the minor contenders – Chris Christie, the current Governor of New Jersey – is urging a change in the language used by Mr Trump and his opponents.
“You will take that momentum coming out of the states, people will come to you in very large numbers, in very short order, and you will build that into victory”, Sanders campaign adviser Tad Devine told reporters in New Hampshire on Saturday.

“We are watching the Donald melt down”, predicted Ellen Tauscher, the former congresswoman who served as undersecretary for Arms Control and International Security Affairs under Clinton.
