Trump Denies He Attacked ‘People Of Mexican Heritage’

Trump addressed his supporters Tuesday night at a rally in Westchester County, New York. But the candidate was notably chastened.

The GOP establishment’s awkward embrace of Trump continued this week, with conservative lawmakers voicing unease with Trump’s racially-tinged attacks against a judge presiding over a lawsuit involving his business. With national Republicans feeling buyers’ remorse and threatening to abandon his nascent candidacy, Trump was under pressure to assuage the concerns of his party.

“I wish she could have seen her daughter become the Democratic party’s nominee for president of the United States”, Clinton said when discussing her mother.

Three candidates kept raised their hands when asked whether they’d back Trump all the way: El Paso County Commissioner Darryl Glenn, Businessman Robert Blaha, and former state legislator Jon Keyser.

Kirk, who’s now running against Rep. Tammy Duckworth (D-Ill.), previously said he would support Trump for president, in hopes that the campaign’s rhetoric would eventually “tone down and reflect a campaign that was inclusive, thoughtful and principled”. I could still go for Ted Cruz, but that is not going to happen.

Despite his teleprompter-controlled delivery, the speech marked a return to the themes that propelled his unconventional campaign to victory in the primaries.

“If I were giving him advice, I would tell him he should own up to making a mistake, he should apologize to the judge and to the American people, and he should stop insulting people [and] groups of people”, she said. Trump’s partnership with developer Louis Cappelli bore fruit in the 2000s, with high-rises bearing his name rising in downtown New Rochelle and White Plains.

“It never feels good to put our heart into a cause or a candidate you believe in and come up short”, she said. “To those who voted for someone else in either party, I will work hard to earn your support”. In writing in the Washington Post, however, Gonzales said that if racism was at the base of Trump’s remarks, that would be wrong, but he said that Trump has a right to question the judge and to expect fairness. One politician, Senator Mark Kirk of IL, even rescinded his endorsement of Trump in response.

Taking Graham’s advice, Illinois Sen. Susan Collins left open the possibility of voting for Clinton.

More than six months ago, I began a column by proposing, “Let’s not mince words: Donald Trump is a bigot and a racist”.

Despite his claim that Trump’s bigoted outburst is “absolutely unacceptable” Ryan is soldiering on and continuing to accept Trump.

Tuesday afternoon, Trump issued a lengthy statement acknowledging that the comments were causing a problem, but he refused to walk them back. But over the last week she’s seemed not only a natural campaigner, but an inspiring one.

Only his fear of Clinton picking Supreme Court justices is enough to keep him giving money to Trump, Hubbard said.

The political outsider then cast himself as the only agent of change in the race, in a theme created to appeal across the political spectrum.

“Tonight’s victory is not about one person, it belongs to generations of women and men who struggled and sacrificed and made this moment possible”, Clinton said. “This election is about who we are as a nation”.
