Trump Denies Posing As His Own Spokesman, Refutes Audio Recording

The Washington Post reports that Mr Trump was widely known among NY tabloid journalists for using the pseudonyms John Miller or John Barron. The name he used most often was “John Barron” (sometimes spelled “Baron”), but he also went by the name “John Miller”.

Carswell appeared on Fox News’ The Kelly File on Friday night and accused Trump releasing the tape to keep himself in the news and then repeated that allegation Saturday morning to Smerconish.

Audience members use their mobile phones to record and photograph U.S. Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump speaking at a campaign rally in Nashua, New Hampshire December 28, 2015. I believe him. I don’t even know the relevance of this, frankly, other than it’s 25 years old, it’s dealing with interests that People magazine were in, and they’re not focusing on issues that Trump is trying to talk about today, which are jobs, terrorism, immigration problems.

“It was not me on the phone”, he told NBC’s “Today” show when the hosts played part of the recording. No matter how much he might wish now that he could say it was someone else making the decisions that led to the downfall of the USFL.

This lines up perfectly with the Washington Post column, which details some of the more disturbing details of his conversations with reporters in a non-sports setting. “But if “John Miller” wants to sit down with us, we would love to have him”. She then called a close friend of Trump’s, longtime New York Post gossip columnist Cindy Adams, who also confirmed it was Trump. The PEOPLE correspondent later reported in the magazine that Trump admitted to her that it was in fact him the whole time, and not a publicist, on the call.

Among those he has asked for help is US Republican Representative Kevin Cramer of North Dakota, one of the country’s most ardent oil and gas drilling advocates and climate change sceptics. Trump spent Friday in Washington doing just that – meeting Speaker Paul Ryan and other party leaders. John Oliver, in response to Trump’s denials that he did this, invited “John Miller” to be on “Last Week Tonight”, to prove that he is real. He says that in addition to living with Maples, Trump had “three other girlfriends”.

So why is this revelation that Trump pretended to be his own publicist more of a scandal than his obnoxious views or his eagerness to provoke violence?

Trump’s history of impersonating his own spokesman has always been an open secret at the Trump Organization and among NY media circles.

The reporters said that the Miller and Barron had Trump’s “boastfulness and callousness”. Shortly afterwards, a man who introduced himself as John Miller called me back and said he was from Trump’s office.

Amid regaling the reporter with tales of Trump’s encounters with models, actresses and the pop queen, the spokesman added in an aside: “By the way, I’m sort of new here”.
