Trump Dismisses Questions Around Donation to Florida Attorney General
Neither Hicks nor Garten could provide specific answers to when the IRS fine was paid, on what date the 2013 call between Bondi and Trump occurred, or what the two discussed, if not Trump University.

But Trump, in the sky over OH aboard his private plane, told reporters the same day that he never spoke to Bondi and, in response to the criticism of Trump University, said, “Many of the attorney generals turned that case down because I’ll win that case in court”.
If Trump Model Management actively evaded immigration laws in bringing models to work in the USA without work visas, that’s not just an embarrassing political story about a candidate who’s campaigned against immigration.
The full timeline of Trump’s donations to Bondi, and her subsequent abandonment of the fraud investigation, produces even sketchier results. I have a lot of respect for her – never spoke to her about that at all and just have a lot of respect for her as a person. I never even spoke to her about it at all. Furthermore her office says that Bondi was not involved in the ultimate decision, and her office decided not to join in the suit because since New York’s lawsuit was filed on behalf of all consumers nationwide, “no further action need be taken”.
“The American people deserve to know what was said, because clearly the attorney general did not proceed with the investigation”, Clinton said, according to the Washington Post. Many turned that down. “‘Hillary Clinton, ‘ I said, ‘Be at my wedding, ‘ and she came to my wedding”, he said at the first GOP presidential debate in Cleveland. “Yes, it is. And now, at last, the Internal Revenue Service has agreed by levying a fine on the foundation for violating the rules that bar political donations by the charities”.
Trump has said he never talked with Bondi about Trump University. The Trump Foundation had not listed the contribution in its tax filings, and Trump later reimbursed the foundation for the donation.
When a New York State commission investigated contributions to state and local officials in the 1980s, it subpoenaed Mr. Trump, who had contributed $150,000 to candidates in 1985.
Trump spokeswoman Hope Hicks confirmed to NBC News that Trump had paid the fine but dismissed the incident as “minor”. Trump apparently knows none of these things, nor did he have the sense to hire anyone who could help him maximize the return on his investments in lobbying and campaign contributions while making sure he didn’t break the law.
“I’ve just known Pam Bondi for years”. Instead, saying the donation was given to a related group with a similar name.
Three years ago the Attorney General of NY filed a fraud lawsuit against Donald Trump for operating Trump University, the university that was not a real university. Shortly after receiving the $25,000 contribution, Bondi announced that Florida would not investigate the fraud claims against Trump University.

“There’s a problem first of all with a charity giving a political contribution, and then it looks like there’s a problem with giving false information to the IRS”, said Noah Bookbinder, executive director of Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, a liberal watchdog group. The Clinton Foundation donors have been accused of seeking access to the Democratic candidate when she was Secretary of State, but NBC reports no evidence of any illegal activity or clear impropriety has been found.
