Trump Donates To Florida AG’s Campaign, AG Drops Trump U Case

The Associated Press reported Monday that Bondi personally solicited the contribution from Donald Trump around the same time her office was being asked about a NY investigation of alleged fraud at Trump University and its affiliates.

According to the AP, Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi personally asked Trump for a donation to her re-election campaign.

Bondi had solicited the contribution, which arrived as she was weighing whether to join a NY state investigation of Trump University. Despite ample evidence, Abbott’s office dropped a plan to sue Donald Trump and his business partners for fraud and seek $5.4 million in penalties and restitution to victims.

Reichelderfer said that Bondi consulted with Trump “several weeks” prior to her office’s announcement that it was considering joining a NY state investigation into Trump University. Abbott, now the governor of that state, had previously announced an investigation into Trump University; Trump’s money arrived after he dropped the probe.

Bondi denied receipt of these documents and claimed that during that time, she only took hold of one complaint.

In your opinion, do you think Trump University is a fraud and Pam Bondi’s office refused to investigate on it because of vested interests? “If elected president I know he will bring America’s best minds together to preserve what we have, and secure what we need, for the future”, she said as was reported by Florida Politics. The AP also reports that Bondi tried to return the $25,000 donation to Trump’s charity foundation, but it was rejected. The AP said the money came from a Trump family foundation, in apparent violation of rules surrounding charities’ political activities. “When I call, they kiss my ass”.

More than 20 Floridians had submitted complaints to Bondi’s office seeking help in getting refunds from the university, according to the AP, though she said through a spokesperson that she was aware of only one such complaint. “He has politicians in his pocket”, she said. Trump also paid the former Attorney General of Texas, Greg Abbott, $35,000 to his campaign fund.

Bondi was among the first elected officials in Florida to endorse Trump and is scheduled to appear with him Saturday at a rally in Tampa. Bondi’s comment that there never was a basis for investigating Trump and his businesses contradict what the Orlando Sentinel found when it requested records from her office.

“During the call, Trump urged his surrogates to not only defend his attacks on U.S. District Judge Gonzalo Curiel, but to join in themselves”.
