Trump endorses House Speaker Paul Ryan
Wisconsin House Speaker Robin Vos, in an op-ed published on a conservative website Friday, said he was “heartbroken” over Trump’s decision to voice support for Ryan’s primary opponent, Paul Nehlen, in a tweet. No. Actually, it’s even worse. “So I may have short-circuited it, and for that I, you know, will try to clarify”.

Ryan also had harsh words for his primary challenger, who has adopted some of Trump’s rhetoric and tone on immigration in his effort to defeat the Speaker.
The move comes toward the end of a tumultuous week for Trump’s campaign – one in which his reluctance to support Ryan’s re-election bid reportedly angered GOP leaders.
Trump initially said that he hadn’t decided whether or not to endorse Ryan, in an echo of Ryan’s initial hesitance to endorse Trump, although he ultimately said he would endorse the real estate mogul.
Ryan tells radio host Jay Weber on WISN radio in Wisconsin: “I don’t see any way in which that would be done”.
Paul Ryan, like other top Wisconsin Republicans, did not attend Mr Trump’s evening appearance in their state.
Trump’s refusal to back Ryan in a Washington Post interview on Tuesday had stunned Republicans already unnerved by his unorthodox candidacy for president.
“I like Paul, but these are frightful times for our country”, Trump told the Post.
Trump conceded Friday he was wrong to claim repeatedly in recent days that he saw a video of a US cash payment going to Iran.
The couple is frightened by the prospect of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton winning the White House over Trump. Ethno-nationalism has a dimension of racial and religious identity politics to it that nationalism doesn’t have (or needn’t have, maybe I should say).
“My message to them is are you really ready to have ObamaCare baked fully into the pie and to have your gun rights taken away?”
Both statewide and national media are thrusting Green Bay into the political spotlight. Ron Johnson were all attending events elsewhere.
Trump struck a rare conciliatory tone at a Wisconsin rally on Friday, imploring his party to unite behind him and opening a full-throttle attack on Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton.
It’s been a rough week for Donald Trump and his handlers. Those include Governor Scott Walker and U.S. Senator Ron Johnson.
Then there’s the torrent of money that Mr Trump has unleashed – more than $80m (£61m) in July, thanks to a flood of small-donor contributions.

This week has marked one of the more pronounced troughs in this journey, but the general election sprint is only just beginning.
