Trump faces fresh GOP pushback despite bid to reset campaign
Collins, who was elected to the Senate in 1996, wrote in an opinion piece in The Washington Post that her view of Trump as unfit for the presidency is based on his disregard for the principle of treating other people with respect. “Trump lacks the character, values, and experience to be President”, they added.

The anti-Trump Republicans join members of the security establishment who have already come out against the nominee, including former Central Intelligence Agency director Michael Morell, who last Friday accused Trump of being an “unwitting agent” of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Numerous same leaders wrote an open letter in March during the Republican primaries condemning Trump and pledging to oppose his candidacy, at a time when other GOP candidates remained in the race.
When are the debates between Clinton and Trump?
An open letter signed by 50 Republican national security experts has warned that nominee Donald Trump “would be the most reckless president” in U.S. history.
The signatories, some of whom worked for more than one Republican president, included former Central Intelligence Agency Director Michael Hayden, who also headed the National Security Agency; former Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff; former Director of National Intelligence John Negroponte; and two former USA trade representatives, Carla Hills and Robert Zoelick.
“But Donald Trump does not reflect historical Republican values nor the inclusive approach to governing that is critical to healing the divisions in our country”. “At the same time, he persistently compliments our adversaries and threatens our allies and friends”.
But Trump, in a statement, dismissed the latest letter signed by what he called “insiders”. “But Trump faced a new round of resistance from within his party that threatened to stall his effort to move beyond the uproar he caused last week”. They would have loved to have been involved with the campaign…
He tied the signatories to Mrs Clinton and said together they were responsible for the rise of the Islamic State group.
Clinton’s campaign also issued a statement Monday after the families of two Americans killed in the 2012 attack on the US consulate in Benghazi, Libya, filed a lawsuit against her.
The wrongful death lawsuit against Clinton was filed Monday in federal court in Washington, DC. Also, the emails released by the State Department provide information similar to what US officials had already discussed publicly at the time. State Department employee Sean Smith and security contractor Tyrone Woods were among four Americans killed in the attacks.

The Trump-proposed plan addresses several key economic issues, now preventing, in his vision, the USA economy from performing better domestically and internationally.
The two candidates were headed toward a trio of televised showdowns.
He proposed big tax cuts for businesses and individuals, as well as halting regulations that he says stifle companies.
“There will be no change under Hillary Clinton – only four more years of Obama”, he said.
For the first time on Monday, Trump revealed a detailed tax reform plan in Detroit after feuding with high-ranking GOP leaders.
