Trump falls behind Cruz in national NBC/WSJ poll
South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley, viewed as a possible Republican vice presidential candidate, has endorsed US Senator Marco Rubio for their party’s 2016 White House nomination, three days before the state’s presidential primary.

“This is just part of, to me, like a goon-squad mentality that Donald Trump has”.
The candidates have been attacking each other all week as a way of campaigning for the SC primary on Saturday. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, speaks at a town hall-style campaign event Sunday in Peterborough, N.H.
Cruz has been trying to defend himself against charges of dishonesty from Trump and Rubio for weeks.
“If Donald Trump files the lawsuit that he threatens, that lawsuit will be frivolous”, Cruz said in televised press conference on Wednesday.
However, don’t expect this to take the momentum out of Trump’s campaign.
The Reuters/Ipsos poll also showed that either Clinton or Sanders would win a hypothetical general election contest with Trump. Thus Haley’s endorsement could eat into Trump’s support.
So pardon me if I want to see a couple more polls before concluding that Trump is finally fading.
Trump also repeated his threat to possibly bring a lawsuit over Cruz’s eligibility to be on the ballot, given that he was born in Canada.
“Time will tell, Teddy”, Trump said in his statement. It is a remarkable contention that an ad that plays video of Donald Trump speaking on national television is somehow defamation. Marco Rubio of Florida for questioning his foreign policy credentials, saying Mr. Rubio’s tenure in the U.S. Senate doesn’t match up with Mr. Bush’s own record on the issue.
“They are right now are in the closing period of a campaign”, Cruz said, adding his campaign is “focused on any accomplishments that Rubio has”.
“If we elect Marco Rubio, every day will be a great day in America”, Haley said, a twist on the cheerful “every day is a great day in South Carolina” slogan she has used in two terms as governor. Trump has been polling ahead, with Cruz trailing in second.
“His campaign has not gotten the traction he wanted”, said Cruz.
“It bothers me that someone comes to hijack that cause”, Bush said at an event in Summerville, South Carolina.
But Trump dismissed the new results, when asked about them Wednesday night during a town hall hosted by MSNBC.

Let’s hope it has sufficient impact to encourage public officials in upcoming primary states to endorse either Rubio or Cruz.
