Trump gets skewered, Clinton finds support at TV’s Emmy awards
“All right, that saved us 22 minutes, what else?” Courtney B. Vance accepts the award for outstanding lead actor in a limited series or a movie for “The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story” at the 68th Primetime Emmy Awards on Sunday, Sept. 18, 2016, at. “Everyone in L.A. knows if you wanna win, sit next to Marcia Clark”, Kimmel quipped of Paulson’s Emmy chances. “If it wasn’t for television would Donald Trump be running for president?” Burnett cast Trump in “The Apprentice”, the hit series that gave him a catchphrase (“you’re fired”) and a larger public profile.

As always, the reliably hilarious Kimmel delivered with one incisive punch line after another, targeting the Oscars, Donald Trump and the man indirectly responsible for Trump’s national popularity, Apprentice creator Mark Burnett.
Kimmel wasn’t happy about how a show went and chose to end it with apologizing to Damon for bumping him from the episode. He then brought out the four young stars of the Netflix smash Stranger Things, who distributed brown paper bags of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches to everyone in the audience from their bikes. Kimmel joked, “And the victor of tonight’s plus one contest: Sarah Paulson, who played Marcia Clark, and brought Marcia Clark with her tonight”. Many have asked who is to blame for Donald trump?
“Television has the ability to make us laugh and cry – and, during certain key parts of Game of Thrones, masturbate”.
Jimmy Kimmel’s filmed introduction opening the 2016 Emmys was elaborate and, despite a few, brief amusing moments, not worth the trouble.
He then nominated Burnett to be the first one thrown over the wall if Trump wins and actually builds it on the border to Mexico.
“So, are you rooting for O.J.to win this time?”
– Kimmel after Dr. Bill Cosby was announced to the stage.
“This is so humiliating”, Damon continued as Kimmel got more and more agitated. So when Smith won for best supporting actress, Kimmel pulled a Kanye West and, unscripted and hilariously, returned to the stage to snag the trophy himself.
