Trump getting back on track, officials insist

“I’ve learned since being on the inside that this audit is a serious matter and that he has said that when the audit is complete, he will release his tax returns”, Conway said during an interview on ABC’s “This Week” that aired Sunday morning.

And she ended up making some news in both.

Thursday, Trump expressed his “regret” for having spoken hurtful words during the campaign.

At a rally in Akron, Ohio, Monday evening, many Trump supporters seemed unfazed by Trump’s potential shift.

Apprehending and removing the estimated 11 million people who either entered the country illegally or overstayed their visas would cost about $400 billion and could reduce US gross domestic product by $1 trillion, according to a study released this year by the free-market think tank American Action Forum.

Sen. Jeff Sessions, R-Ala., meanwhile, said Trump is “wrestling” with how to handle illegal immigrants already in the United States. But Trump also risks turning off the voters that were attracted to his candidacy precisely because of his harsh pledges and rhetoric against illegal immigration if he does commit to softening his policies.

On Saturday, Trump met with a Hispanic Advisory Council at Trump Tower in NY and mentioned a “humane and efficient” way to deal with undocumented immigrants, according to Buzzfeed.

I have never liked the media term “mass deportation” – but we must enforce the laws of the land!

At the Trump campaign, Mrs. Conway brings openness in a campaign known for a top-down, tightly compartmentalized management style.

“So what Donald Trump said yesterday in that meeting … varied little from what he has said publicly”, she told Bash. It’s that we need a quote fair, and quote humane way, of dealing with what is estimated to be about 11 million illegal immigrants in this country. That was part of the discussion, it was a very robust discussion.

“That’s just plain fact”, the Alabama lawmaker said. “And you think the entire election is a referendum on Donald Trump”, Conway said on “Squawk Box”. Bash didn’t let her off without a follow-up, however.

“To be determined”, she said.

But the third time was the charm. Conway’s response: “To be determined”.

Mrs. Conway, 49, the wife of a Manhattan law firm partner and the mother of four, has polled for numerous conservative movement’s major organizations, testing public opinion on all of the hot-button issues. Citing Bahl’s instance, Trump refers to him as “a man who went to Harvard”(Bahl went to Wharton Business School) and who could not stay in the USA after his studies were over because his H-1B visa was turned down. The former secretary of state has said that militant groups like Islamic State have begun using Trump’s proposed Muslim ban as a recruitment tool.

“I’m not flip-flopping”, Trump insisted in a phone call on Fox News.

“He’s able to be himself, the authentic Donald Trump”, she said, and “the pivot that he’s made is on substance”.

Officials with the Trump campaign say: No, not really. Breitbart News has been a vocal supporter of anti-immigrant policies and has even run campaigns against the H-1B visa programme. Whether that’s enough to make a difference at this point, however, with so many state-level polls now forecasting a ruinous November for Trump, is an open question.
