Trump gives Dr. Oz medical report

Donald Trump on Thursday released a letter from his doctor that deemed him to be “in excellent physical health”, a day after he shared the results of a recent physical exam during a taping of “The Dr. Oz Show”. His vital statistics including blood and cholesterol are also normal, but he does take a lipid lowering agent (rosuvastatin) and a low dose aspiring, it added.

Trump had a physical exam last week and first revealed some details on “The Dr. Oz Show”.

Still, neither release appears to have done much to ease concerns about transparency in the Trump campaign.

Following Trump’s interview with Oz on Wednesday, Clinton released a new batch of medical records. Trump would become the oldest president ever elected, while Clinton would be second oldest.

The latest preview clip shows the Republican presidential candidate telling Dr. Mehmet Oz that he would like to “lose a little weight”.

But Bornstein later made headlines when he told NBC News that he wrote the letter quickly as a Trump associate waited to collect it, though he stood by his glowing assessment. “According to Tur’s source, Dr. Oz said Trump’s blood pressure and cholesterol were at healthy levels and that “(Trump) was very healthy and that he would be happy if any of his patients had similar results”.

In the letter released Thursday, which is dated September 13, Bornstein states that Trump, 70, has been under his care since 1980, and sits for an annual physical exam.

He last had an echocardiogram two years ago, which was “within the range of normal”, and an EKG and chest X-ray taken earlier this year were also normal.

Trump does not drink alcohol or use tobacco. According to CDC guidelines, 236 would be overweight and 267 would be obese for Trump’s 6-foot-3-inch height.

The brief letter paled in comparison to the more than 1,000 pages of medical records released in May 2008 by Arizona Sen.

“I wouldn’t be talking to you right now if they were bad”, Trump said on “Fox and Friends”.

Keeping the tax returns under wraps also makes it hard to prove Trump’s claim that he’s given millions to charity, “I’m a good person, i give money to charity, a lot of money to charity”. She also pushed Trump, who is a close campaign adviser to her father, to explain why the paid parental leave plan the real estate mogul’s daughter developed does not extend to men.

Thursday’s letter doesn’t disclose any previous health conditions Trump has had, except that his only hospitalization was for a childhood appendectomy. Some have claimed that her health issues are far more serious than the campaign is letting on.

Trump has repeatedly questioned Clinton’s health, suggesting she lacks the “stamina” for the job.

“If you really want to make a real statement about a candidate’s health, you need more information”, he said.
