Clinton released detailed medical records in the wake of her illness while Trump handed a one-page summary to Dr. Oz on his show – but his campaign declined to release details.

“As all physicians do when seeing a patient for the first time, Dr Oz took Mr Trump through a full review of systems”, the show’s statement said.

Trump also talked with Oz about his physical activity, dietary habits, and broader health-related issues.

Laurance Rassin, an audience member, said it was revealed during the taping that Trump’s cholesterol is “under 170”. The audience applauds, and Trump hands Oz what he says are two letters regarding the physical.

“It’s his decision”, Oz said.

“Well I really have no problem in doing it”, Donald told Dr. Oz of releasing his medical summary. A colonoscopy done in 2013 was normal, according to Bornstein. Platt said that, according to Oz, Trump’s cholesterol has come down to a good level after he was prescribed a Statin drug to lower it – Oz remarked that only a young person would have a cholesterol level that good, Platt said.

Trump’s daughter Ivanka, who joined him on the campaign trail Tuesday, also planned to join him for part of the “Dr. Oz Show” taping.

If Trump wins the election he would be the oldest candidate to take the White House.

Nonetheless, Trump’s daytime TV chat about health and wellness is a savvy political stunt.

Trump, a former reality TV star, is at home in a setting like “The Dr. Oz Show”.

The appearance is partly a pitch to female voters.

He was booked on the show more than a week ago, which means the plans pre-date Hillary Clinton’s recent health scare.

Trump also took a swipe at Clinton’s health during a rally in Canton, Ohio, on Wednesday night, telling the crowd, “You think Hillary would be able to stand up here for an hour and do this?”

Dr. Lisa Bardack adds that Clinton is “recovering well with antibiotics and rest” after she became overheated, dehydrated and felt dizzy at a 9/11 memorial ceremony on Sunday.

The show airs in the USA on Thursday local time – in the midst of intense debate on the wellbeing of the presidential candidates, particularly the Democratic challenger Hillary Clinton who collapsed in NY on Sunday while attempting to stick to her campaign schedule, despite being diagnosed 48 hours earlier with a bout of pneumonia.

Oz told Kilmeade that he wanted to keep the TV segment focused on Trump and Trump’s policies – “we’re not going to be talking about Secretary Clinton, for sure”, he said.
