Trump hits out at Clinton and Cruz ahead of Indiana primary
Donald Trump is past the 1,000 mark in his quest for 1,237 and the GOP presidential nomination.

Even in the face of blistering criticism from former Speaker of the House John Boehner, who last week called Cruz “Lucifer in the Flesh” and “the most miserable son of a bitch I have ever worked with”, Cruz not only contended that Boehner’s complaints had no justification, but suggested they might be motivated by Boehner’s own ambitions.
With Trump pulling away from Cruz and Kasich in the delegate count, the two teamed up to try to deny Trump the 1,237 delegates needed to win the nomination outright, forcing a contested convention. The other 30 delegates also go to the candidates with the most votes in the state.
“We intend to fight for every vote and delegate remaining”, he said. Downs said 30% of the surveys were completed before Cruz and Kasich announced a pact for Kasich to pull out of campaigning in IN, meant to block Trump from winning the state.
The talk among delegates and visitors to the convention, which saw a spike in attendance this year because of California’s unusual importance to the Republican nominating process, is which candidate can win in November, Dhillon said. Which leads one to think that the Downs Center poll is a weird outlier.
“Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton both agree that grown men should be allowed to use the little girls’ restroom”, Mr Cruz said last week, at an event where he appeared with his daughters, aged seven and five.
But Cruz’s campaign is confident it will win delegates here, particularly because of the way California Republican delegates are awarded: three delegates in each of the state’s 53 congressional districts and it’s winner-take-all. Bernie Sanders, 55% to 40.3%, with 4.8% of voters undecided. Nor is her need to keep her campaign running until the Democratic convention.
Hillary Clinton, who planned to campaign in Williamson on Monday, has been criticized for comments that her policies would put coal miners and companies out of business. Trump will be campaigning over the next two days across Indiana.

Encouraged by a new poll giving him a double-digit lead in the state and eager to pivot to the general election, the Republican front-runner stressed the importance of Indiana’s Tuesday GOP primary more than he or his top advisers have previously. But that isn’t his main concern.
For a registered voter, sitting this primary out should not be an option.
It’s unclear how much of an effect Wilson’s endorsement will have on the California primary.
Our neighbors to the south are paying extraordinarily close attention to the 2016 presidential election – and their worries extend beyond Donald Trump and his tough tone on illegal immigration.
To a person, all were horrified at a Trump tone on immigration they find inaccurate and disrespectful.
“That’s the big question that every single person here in this room is anxious about”, said Dhillon, a San Francisco resident.
But the interest – and concern – didn’t end there.
Bill Clinton planned to attend a rally later in Charleston.

Cruz signs dominated the convention walls just as his volunteers dominated the convention crowd. But the prospect of Donald Trump clinching the nomination in the Golden State has scrambled the party’s political fault lines in advance of its pivotal June primary, forging unexpected alliances that blur those longstanding divisions.
